Which one of the Sailor Moon seasons do you think was the darkest of the five?

Darkest Season, eh? Interesting topic.. Definitely not Sailormoon SuperS, that's for sure :p Sailormoon Classic also wasn't "dark".

The second part of Sailormoon R, however, was. Sailormoon S is debatable to some extent. As for Sailor Stars, mostly at the end of the series.

My vote is tied between The 2nd Part of Sailormoon R and Sailor Stars.

I'm torn between R, S, and Stars. R got really dark and gripping after Rubeus. S managed to creep me out quite a bit, especially when we first see Hotaru. And then, I haven't seen much of Stars, but what I did see (the Neherenia arc) was pretty creepy/cool.

I always thought Sailor Moon S was pretty dark. It just seemed that way to me. It had its light moments, but overall, it just seemed to have a very serious tone to it.

Sailor Moon Classic became very dark near the end, of course. It was heart-wrenching.

Personnally, R didnt seem dark to me.

S was awsome. The whole possesion thing, the demon in Hotaru and the father were twisted.

The S manga was also pretty dark. I guess the whole concept of Hotaru having to die after a life of misery sort put a downward spin on it.

Personally, I found the darker bits better. The manga as a whole is darker then the series, only because they spend less time on the romance of the series I think.

The first season wasn't dark IMHO, it was all pink and perky. I liked the good ol' days of the perkyness.
