Just as pointed out by Momotato, this episode is *obscenely* funny. Whether one is looking for a strong plot, great action scenes, and drop-dead hilarity, this series serves everything up in spades.

Although it's taken quite a while for this series to get into its groove, there's no doubt that, right now, this series is golden. There's an almost tangible bond between our three heroes, and in stark contrast to their earlier aloofness, it's quite lovely to see them cracking jokes, playing pranks, and generally enjoying the company of each other.

The bonhomie between Mugen, Jin, and Fuu isn't limited just within their group, and, as a case in point, it's hilarious to see how our two samurai get along with the various people they encounter. In this particular episode, it's rather telling to see the depth of Mugen's conversations with the Chun-Li-esque kunoichi Yatsuha, and perhaps as a rather ironic analogue, it's entertaining to see how she tricks him again . . . and again . . . and again (^_^)

In any case, there's no doubt that this series is one of the most *enjoyable* titles of this season. While some may still have qualms about the lack of plot development with regard to the sunflower samurai, this issue is wholly compensated by the sheer polish that this title exudes. To be sure, Champloo has previously shown that it excels at stylish action, but now, it's clear that it can produce superb comedy as well.
