Video Games Dead Or Alive: Xtreme Beach VolleyBall

I BOUGHT it. As soon as the shipment was at work, I was pretty much off to the registers.

Now, as many of you think, it's just a bikini fest with the Dead or Alive girls. Actually, that's halfway true. Most of the clothes they wear are bikini's. And the most they EVER wear are...well, cheerleaders outfits that puts shame to the term midriff....because it's not so "mid". You have to "flirt" (ie. make friends with) with the other girls to have a partner, in order to play. Kasumi sounds like she has a crush on whoever she's giving a present to. But, yeah.

But, the game itself is pretty addicting. I mean, I love playing vball, so I might be a little biased. But, it's pretty fun to play. Only thing is that there's only a handful of characters...so it gets pretty tedious to keep playing the same people, no matter how "mixed" the teams are. The other thing that sucks, though I guess I can understand why, is that it's only two players. Having four players would be REALLY hard, as some of the hits go offscreen and I rely on the computer to make the hit.

There's almost NO storyline, other than the fact that the island they play on is Zack's, which he bought when he won big at Roulette in Vegas. That's it.

*I* think it's a good buy. Addicting game. Definitely a party game...and more than definitely a male game.

Edit: Here's another little tip, since you have both games. Play as one of the girls in survival mode in DOA3, and your starting cash in DOAX should be equal to your number of wins. I think. I haven't tried this out yet, but I'm about to.

 

To be perfectly honest, I like the fact that the pressure-sensitive a, b, x, y buttons are actually used for those capabilites. Control's really intuitive, because you "control" your teammate's type of play with the right analog.

Oh, and I found one of the better reasons to play the game. You can find the demos and story breaks you find in ALL previous DOA games, and a trailor to the upcoming Ninja Gaiden game! Bwahahahaha!!!!!!

Try it first though. Don't make a blind buy, because there's a risk of being disappointed by it. I *wasn't* but there was the risk.

There also aren't actually a lot of extras to do...but it's all good...the volleyball does take most of my game time in the game anyway!

 

you also can get all the doa commercials. "heh she kicks high"
the ninja gaiden one is nice tho. very nice looking. the ability to put songs on the box hd is nice cause you can replace the horrible pop that's on there with your own. so, if you felt the need to hear "girls" by the beastie boys being played, there ya go. the opening and ending stuff rules...lol zack is funny
