I remember feeling the same way when I first saw them.

I bought used copies that had been brought over from *somewhere* in Asia.

I'm considering rebuying the films because the english subtitling wasn't all that good, with errors from subs going off screen, to appearing for 1/4 seconds, to horrendous spelling/grammar/totally incorrect things.

This has been argued before, but between me and Svovin Ndoire...or someone to that effect. It depends. I mean, those HK releases are cheaper...but the subs are usually cruddy or have rudimentary english...at best. Having the real thing is good, and is actually what I prefer...but it can get expensive as you can probably by 2~3 of the HK region 0 dvd's. I know I can get that deal. But, again, it's all in what you think is best.

Personally, I watched the HK copy of EoE and I gleamed enough of it (though probably because I watch too much anime and read too many books as is) that the story made sense. It also helped that I read a partial synopsis to the movie. So, I was satisfied. But I do plan on buying the EoE american release...because as I said, it's what I prefer.

Oh, and Neph...the last couple episodes of Eva HAD lines that only appear for so long. I think it was to promote confusion. At least in the remakes of ep. 25-26...I believe. Anywhere else, then I don't think they subbed it too well. :D Anyway, those instances where it was SUPPOSED to be flash subs...if you notice them talk...it's synch ratio is pretty high. ;)

Whatever, I really shouldn't be posting much about this...it's been over a year since I've even gleamed at Shin Seiki Evangelion. *sigh*

[regedit]Okay, I just realized you said fansub....screwy me. The milkshake is getting to my medulla. If that's the case...then you have the exact copy as me of EoE. :D Anyway, that HK and US release still stands...it's whatever floats your boat.

Oh yeah, I personally find almost ALL of Eva's music great. Exception comes from most of the songs in the VOX CD...because that dude can't rap...but the lady singing I can actually listen to. Even Asuka's "Get it on! Doppelganger!" is a good song. And Kum Susser Tod was PERFECT for the scene it was in. Anything moody in that scene and it would have made too much sense and that isn't what eva is about....:D [/regedit]

Oh, I know some lines intentionally appear for short bits.

But I mean just standard lines of dialogue popping up then vanishing, leaving NOTHING while someone talked for another half minute.

And, i didnt know it was an HK either.
