(WARNING! HEAVY SPOILERS AHEAD!!! DON'T READ UNLESS YOU HAVE ACTUALLY WATCHED THE EPISODES!)

Hi all! I just *FINISHED* watching episode 20 of Detective Academy Q, and I wondered:

Were you able to solve any mystery by yourself?

    What were your theories?

I know it's hard to solve one, because most of the time you stumble upon features not supposed to be in "common" anime.

For example, in the first episodes where a man's shoes are the key, well it's not very detailed and i didn't expect that thing to be a mystery key. Also, knowing japanese was another stumbling stone. How the heck was I supposed to know that some arrangement of some stuff was meant to be japanese letters? Hmph.

Anyway, I *was* able to decipher a couple of mysteries... at least partially. This has been my reasoning so far:

    Jack the ripper.
All those ackward positions... i did manage to notice that those weren't natural positions. So I thought: Hmmmm maybe there's something behind that WALL. One *hint* to support my theory is that the characters murdered appeared in the opening scenes of the chapters. If those people are gonna participate in the anime, why are they dead all of a sudden? So they HAD to be alive.

    :D I know, that's cheating but... it's a hint! ;)

The mysterious vanishing in the diorama.
When I saw the raft, and all that muddy environment in the miniature, I thought: Hovercraft! Well, i still had my doubts on how could someone be able to make a hovercraft, so then i remembered that there could be water in there, so maybe a raft was enough.

And this is what i got from chapters 17-20.

    The greatest vanishing mystery.
Frankly I don't know what the infinitum sign had to do with this.

Regarding the identity of the culprit, and if the great priest was held accountable:

I've done research in religious cults before. So in an isolated town, ruled by religion, with all those people wearing masks "or else", i thought: Cult alert!

So IMO all the people were suspects. There could be one or two members of a "close circle" unknown to the rest of the villagers. So whenever the high priest said "there WILL be a sudden vanishing", i thought: Hmmm maybe he's telling the people to do some work.

I mean, why do the characters keep insisting that there was ONE culprit? In many murders there are both material and intelectual perpetrators.

So the high priest could have used his translator as a messenger. Then he would tell the executioner to do whatever he had planned. This is common in cults like in Jonestown. Which by the way, is related to a US govt operation known as "MK Ultra". Interesting coincidence, isn't it. Because in chapter 20 we learn this disease religion was founded by the military.

Anyway, Before more proof started to appear, I knew that there HAD to be some shortcut. If there was a military facility, maybe it could be underground... A possible opening would be below the hospital. And the other end would be of course, the shrine itself. (Kinda reminds me of Final Fantasy X, with all those machina handled by priests of Yevon).

Anyway, I haven't seen chapter 21 yet, but my theory is that there is _NO_ shrine. It's just a wall that divides the two villages. Why? Because both Kyuu and Megu were facing NORTH (unless it was the afternoon, where they'd be facing SOUTH) when looking at "opposite" sides of the tunnel. (Both had the sun to their right).

So maybe the infinity sign doesn't represent infinity per-se, but it represents a MIRROR.

The spiral staircase was made to get the visitors dizzy, and then not realize that the tunnel was actually a U-turn.

Well that's all for me. And you? I'm sure there's a Sherlock Holmes in all of you fans of mystery. Come on, share your theories.
