This is my painting! Her name is Didra! I dunno, I just started painting one day...and I came up with her!
I don't paint very much, I usually draw my own anime and manga but I don't have a scanner...so all you can see is my Didra!

It's warm and moody, and the dark eyes are a strong expression too. Overall I don't know much about paint since my art classes so far have been mostly charcoal, pastel, and ink. (Sometimes acrylic wash, but not hardcore painting like that.) I'm taking painting classes next semester, so I'll be doing stuff like that too.

Thanks, that's what I was shooting for. I wanted something "different". I sometimes paint her when I'm depressed...It's just something about her empty eyes. But other than that, it kind of freaks out my friends. I'm glad that you like it!

Nah, it's on oversized sketch paper. I don't have one, I wish I had one though, I would paint all day. I did this one on my kitchen floor.

I'm really happy you found a way to really let go and express yourself through paint. I hope you can get canvas sometime. What paint did you use? anyways, even if you find a piece of thin wood, (like masonite) or cardboard,(these things are cheaper then canvas) as long as you prime it with gesso, you can paint freely and build up as many thick layers of paint that you want and come up with something just as nice or better then if it was on canvas :)

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Paint? The paint I used was Acrylic. That's the only paint in my house. I might get something to paint that on, my mom loves it. I actually thought she would hate it. It was laying on the kitchen table, drying, and she walked in from work. She was all excited and said, "ooo, I like this. I"m going to get it framed." **shrugs** I dunno, I really thought she would hate it. She's not much on dark, dreary colors.

there's something exotic and mysterious about.. I can see why your Mom would like it. plus you did it, so why wouldn't she want it framed?

Lol, I guess you're right. But my mom's not much of the "motherly" type. Usually, when I show her something it's just "That's nice." It's always been like that. She never suggested to frame anything that I ever done. But anyways, I'm glad that everyone likes my painting. I've been doing a couple more of her, one with bloody hands and a bloody face. I'll have to post it later.
