RPG Archives Discussion: The Upcoming Mass Archive

    As per Hex's Announcement, we're getting ready to clean out the entire RPG forum and start anew. This means that pretty much everything in this forum will be archived.

    The reason for this is that the transition to the new RPG rules is proving too difficult, and a fresh start all around is what us Moderators of the RPG forum have decided is best. Having all RPG threads under control and in similar structure will make things easier on everyone.

    If you are currently involved in an ongoing game, we apologize, and point out that you can carry on the game in a new form, picking up where you left off, if it meets one of our screening requirements.

    After the mass archive, every RPG that comes to creation here will be the responsibility of one of the forum moderators - currently myself, Hexerei, and Meaikoh_Takashi.

    I've opened up this new, non-game topic, so you players can provide feedback on what is planned to happen, as well as to answer any questions you might have.

    If we already had one created by Hexerei... will they create it again... or do we need to PM them about it?

    When the archiving takes place, our Mods decision will be brought forward. We're still working out details, so I can't give you a straight answer just yet.

    When will this huge project take place. I figure it will have to take some time, but when should we expect to see the change?

    After all of us moderators decide how to works things so we won't have to change again (seriously messing with you players and no doubt inconveniencing and irking you all), it will likely happen fast and seamless.

    I wish I could give better notice, but it's pretty much "any day now"...

    Note the archives folder already present in this forum. One button push and it's done.

    I'm not exactly an RPG mod anymore, but my suggestion for the game masters is to create a summary of what happened in your RPG's. When your RPG's are recreated you should post this summary so people can continue from there...

    And mods, if they decide to do this you should give them a few days, but maybe lock the RPG's while they do so.

    The title of this thread was misleading, so I changed it. The current games are merely being stored away, and locked, not deleted. All users will still be able to browse through and read posts after the new incarnation of the forum. These topics will just not be able to receive replies.

    When we have a more solid decision, there will be a "few days notice" before the changeover - perhaps my earlier "any day now" was a bad choice of wording.

    Alright, So when they are archived, We can simply start it again, and start it where we left off?

    I know that a mod will create it for me.

    If any of us Mods are willing to adopt it, it likely will just be reopened and you can continue from the story so far, yes.

    The decision has been made. By the end of this weekend, the archive will have taken place.

    Just wanted to say........This is going to be confusing as heck for me since I've been gone for a week and I will be gone for a week while this 'Mass Archive' takes place. Just to warn people that if rpgs that are opened again that I'm in and I don't post, its not cause I droped out but cause I'm not even around to do anything about it.
