DN Angel DNangel

I just heard that ADV got the license for this.

Anyway, has anyone heard when they plan to release it? They have announced a release date for Angelic Layer already, another series that they just obtained, and I have been able to find information on practically everything they licensed EXCEPT this.

I would appreciate it if someone could tell me so I know how soon I need to go blow some money on more DVDs. :glazed:

Are you sure it's been liscensed? Cuz teh scanlation people are still scanlating... and once something is liscenced, they always have to stop...

It says it's one of the series they have acquired. The ADV website has nothing about it, but they also have nothing about Pretear or whatever else they acquired.

I'm not sure, but can't they still scanlate since it's the manga, not the anime? ADV doesn't have the manga rights.

 

A license for the anime is not the same as a license for the manga, UFOtaku. ADV got the rights to the anime, but as far as I know the manga is still unlicensed.

Now, that may change (Tokyopop has been grabbing a lot of series, after all) but at the moment...scanslations should still be happening.

*sighs* I just wish the anime were....closer to the manga. Of course, it might get better (haven't seen past the first few episodes) but....thingy.

It is going to take a while for DN Angel to come out here, though, isn't it? Since it is currently airing in Japan, it won't come here for a while. I'm still excited though. Daisuke is so kawaii~! ^_^

 

That really all depends on how ADV decides to work things. It could come out early next year, or it might be stuck on a back burner for a couple of years.

Have I mentioned lately that I have a beef with ADV in general?

AnimeonDVD.com was saying that this year, practically every current series in Japan is being picked up by someone. Wolf's Rain, Texhnolyze, GitS: Stand Alone Complex, etc.

ADV didn't even have a listing of what they recently acquired last I checked. DNAngel was nowhere on the site, not even in press releases or anything.

Still, no matter how slow, I'm patient enough to hold out for DNAngel and Texhnolyze, if nothing else.
