I don't know why, but I like the "Toned" ones :p

I think adding colors doesn't make them work hard on the drawings?? oO Colored ones are useful sometimes because you can define what is this part, or this thing.. once I was reading a Fishigi Yuugi manga - it was black & white - and got confused seeing something wondering what it was :p

I personally think that toned manga are much fun to read than colours. B/W pictures have a much better art than the colour ones, but that's only my opinion :).

"Toned" could be good, but it depends... Are you talking about using comic book style toning patterns, or high-quality chiaroscuro style shading (256 values of black, grays, and white)? For me, I prefer the latter, since it's closer to how pencil drawn manga looks like. I'm not a comic person, so I don't really like comic tones. Sure, it's cheaper cuz it's really just pure black in varying patterns to give the illusion of different values of gray. But I'm willing to spend extra money on a manga that uses high-quality grayscale. Of course, it better be a good manga series.

As for colored, yeah, that would make the manga even more expensive, but again, I would buy it if it's high quality, and the art itself is pretty exceptional. (Not some mainstream, cliche-art either.)

I'll stick with the "toned". The colored look at little bit weird to me. Dunno why.

I like the colored ones. I think it works better with certain stories. It worked very well in the Guyver series.

I thought that colored would be ok, but every page/scene of the manga would be different from each other, cuz every artist would have a different styles of coloring .. so I change my vote to toned. I guess everyone thinks the same way :)

    i prefer black and white
this is because in my opinion it isn't hard to get distracted by something that catches your eye and ruins part of the story for (has happened to me in an animanga)
anyway the toned just seems more traditional to me anyway
    my opinion
