Cowboy Bebop Does Faye like Spike?

Dou think that Faye likes Spike?





Explain why you think so.

 

Well I might be biased in my observation because I'm a major Faye/Spike shipper but here's my thoughts.


I don't think Faye looks at Spike in the aspect of a love interest more like an annoying brother that you love to fight with but love him nonetheless. At some points of the anime, I really thought that Faye and Spike would be together but I soon realized that it looked more like sibling love.

Spike, since he's still hooked onto Julia, doesn't see Faye as a love interest either. More like someone to pick on but he knows when to back off - such as the episode "My funny valentine".

My point of view on this.

 

yes it possible with the way she talks to spike, I think she does.

 

ive scene some pictures that make it seem that they like each other. i personaly think faye likes spike but spike still likes julia even though she died

I think that Faye does like Spike as well. A little more then like partners, but not as much as dating... you know... that line in between.

I think Spike sees Faye as a comrade, and not as a companion. His only love interest is Julia, that is probably why they would never hook up.

That's just my opinion.

my opinion - spike see's faye as an annoyance (although she has her uses when she isnt being greedy/selfish)

I'm sorry but i'm not one of those people who sees a reletionship in something just because they live together

 

They obviously care somewhat about each other, not so much as a relationship (as in romantic)... but they obviously care somewhat.

Spike saved Faye before, when she was taken by Vicious; and if they saw her as such an annoyance, they'd just get rid of her. And if I remember correctly, we even see Faye crying after Spike's death (although she probably doesn't know for sure he's dead, it could probably be assumed).

They've been through Hell and high water as a team and as allies, everyone on the Bebop is. So, yes, I think Faye and Spike like each other to some degree... but far from romantic.

 

the annoying brother thing does really explain their relationship. but at the end of the series there are some questionable circumstances to the way she sees spike. their kind of alike one just a stubborn as the other.

 

I kinda agree with that, too.
I think they both "like" one another, but they both know better.

If you pay attention they put Faye and Julia in scenes right next to one another, and relate the two quite often. Faye and Julia are a lot alike, and I think Spike can see that. He's attracted to Faye because he can see the woman he loves in her, and she's attracted to him, but neither will make a move because
A) Spike loves Julia.
B) Faye knows that.
C) Neither feels a strong enough feeling to care to make a move.

but they express it occasionally, and on many circumstances Faye will seem pretty upset over Julia.

 

I think Faye likes Spike but Spike still likes Julia. Maybe if Spike knew Faye longer and didnt die he would start to like her, but I think he liked her just a little, but not enough to start a relationship.

 

It's VERY clear that Faye likes Spike. Throughout the story, Faye NEVER exposes her vulnerable side by opening up to any character, except to Spike in the end. This is Faye, and she CRIED when talking to Spike in the last episode. She didn't even cry when she found her old home destroyed, when she talked to her former classmate. She's a very stoic woman, and there's no way, in my mind, that a mere brother-sister relationships would make her cru and say everything she said before Spike finally left. I think it's pretty clear, and I've always taken it for granted, as one of the important motifs in the last episode.

However, at the same time, there is absolutely no doubt about Spike's undevoted love to Julia. At the same time, I don't belibe he sees Faye as an annoyance. Neither does Jet. They both pretend like it, but secretly, I think they're both VERY glad that Faye is here. If you think about it, they have a tremendous amount of faith on her, they really trust her.

 

I like where you're coming from Grunge. I don't know about the whole trust thing, but I fully agree with their appreciation of her company. Even Jet. Of course theyre going to have some excuse for taking her back in. An episode(s) that comes to mind would be Jupiter Jazz I & II. Had Jet not cared about her he would have got his money back and thought about taking her in later, instead they talked about the 20,000 Wulongs while on their way back to the Bebop.

 

feye and spike are only like sorta partners, like in the line of work sorta way, the feelings they have for each other are all just like friendly feelings none of that romantic stuff. It doesn't matter how she talked to him in that show there was never any sign of mushy feelings toward each other.

in the last episode of cowboy bebop (the real folk blues pt.2) she gets as upset as faye will allow herself. when spike comes back to the bebop before saying goodbye forever, she argues with him and in that argument she comes as close to telling him she loves him as she will allow herself.

 

Well this is what I believe.

In terms of Faye falling in love with Spike...that seems impossible in my opinion. But I have no doubt in my mind that Faye and Spike have a " Mysterious yet special relationship". They just have so many differences and the Spike and Julia thing brings more doubt to my mind. Spike has mentioned before the three things that he hated. Remember?

 

Yes i think that Spike is Faye's romantic interest, and yes she deffinitely likes him. But i think that she likes money more than Spike

 

I think that Faye only likes him as a partner but cause she loved him. And i think that thats why Bebop was so succesful, cause the central mail and female characters didn't really love each other, which is a change from so many animes that are brought out.

 

I never saw any reqal reason for Faye and spike to know boots so to speak...^^;;
I mean, faye was faye, and spike loved julia....It worked as it was. the show was an international sucess, and few animes do as well without making 25 movies, a card game and 10 seasons on t.v.(Ie: the saturday morning shows.)
so, let the show go...we can marvel at the wonderful sessions, and get the DVD's, but dont make a thread that begs to second guess bebop it's self.....

Sure it was a big sucess but that is no reason why we shouldnt talk about things like this. Its obvious people have different opinions about subjects like this. And thier answers are pretty interesting i guess. I find nothing wrong with talking about these type of things...I mean you have to analyze every important thing that happened in an episode and use that to justify your answer.
