Inu-Yasha Does the whole love triangle/situation between Inuyasha, Kagome,& Kikyou bother you?

I really don't like this situation among the three. It really does mess with everybody's emotions. To begin with Inuyasha can deal with one woman at a time he acts like he cares about that one person deeply, but when the other comes along he can't really decide what to do. I know it was a while ago, but the episode when Kagome went back home and was wondering when Inuyasha would come for her....and when she finally came back she saw Kikyou and Inuyasha together. Then Inuyasha said something about picking Kikyou or something like that. It was Kagome who got hurt, but still she decided to stay with him. Another thing is Kagome and Kikyou. Kikyou obviously does not really like Kagome. Kagome also feels a certain disliking toward Kikyou. The episode when the talking baby (Onigumo's Heart?) tried to get a hold of Kagome's heart, he finally found a little resentment in there. Last, kikyou sometimes feels jealous or maybe annoyed or even hurt that Kagome is spending time with Inuyasha and mending his heart in the way that she wished she could do. Anyways ITs obvious that somebody has to go.

EVERY DANG ANIME HAS A LOVE TRIANGLE!!!

:p well, i can't blame Kikyou for not liking Kagome too much. She DID have IY first, and fell in love with him too, and after seeing someone else practically take her place wouldn't make her too thrilled.

Yea, Kagome has some hate for Kikyou... well it's more like jealousy. I remember that eps where that creepy baby thing said that there is a lot of hate in her heart and it's easy to control her because of it. She says over and over throughout the series that SHE is the one who decided to stay with IY, meh, she just doesn't like being apart from him even though she knows he still has some love for Kikyou.

The whole thing about one of them having to go... well... Kikyou COULD stay dead for once, or Kagome can stay in her era. either way, the anime is ending soon, so we'll soon see who leaves ^_^

Seriously? Hmm, guess my information source is faulty (they recalled hearing something about the baby taking ages to find any darkness in Kagome's heart, and then Kagome denying her jealousy to be a hateful emotion).

Or they could become secret lovers, but for some reason I doubt that prospect.

But yeah, the love triangle added was only included by Takahashi to strengthen the romantic subplot and give the fanbase (which mostly consists of teenaged girls) something to relate to (not to mention that love triangles are a Rumiko Takahashi favorite).

I find love triangles very interesting, but the fans behind them can give you a headache. :dizzy2:

I don't really like it much. If anything though, it makes for a few good plot twists.

The main problem I think, and this is just because she's not my favorite character, is Kagome. Not saying it's her fault or anything, but if she hadn't come along, sometimes I wonder how things would be between them now, after Kikyo was revived. Am I the only one?

And InuYasha needs to make up his mind, or he'll go insane. Even though I like Kikyo better, Kagome would be much better for him, when you think about the long run. After all, she usually does think with a clearer, more rational head.

Not that Kikyo isn't smart. She is, but she tends to let her emotions take over.

So, even if we didn't like the love tryiange (sp), none of us would have an InuYasha to talk about. Besides, I think it's funny when Miroku and Shippou keep scolding InuYasha for not choosing.

It makes the series more interesting to me. But I think Kagome is the one for Inuyasha. She is just so nice and sweet and calm under pressure. I mean Kikyo`s relationship with Inuyasha was sweet before Naraku made them betray each other. But I really prefer Inuyasha and Kagome together.

*heavily sighs and grabs a mocha and a stress ball* I will not take flame bait...I will not take flame bait

*eats the stress ball and squeezes the mocha until it spills all over brand new jeans*

GAH, MASHI! IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!!!! *sets army of hungry hungry hippos after you*

I'm getting much better at controlling my anger ^_^

Actually if this scenario were played out then absolutely nothing would happen since Kagome was the reason Inuyasha was revived to begin with (remember, Kikyo died loathing him so I doubt she would've purposely revived him), plus there's the fact that Kikyo wouldn't have been ressurected in the first place without Kagome (since Tsubaki attempted to insert Kagome's soul into Kikyo's body, and while it more or less failed, it wouldn't have even halfway worked without Kagome).

Huh, I always thought that second descriptor sounded more like *Kagome* then Kikyo. Kikyo always struck me as the more intelligent of the two, but Kagome also came off to me as the more emotionally in tune (with both herself and others), so I guess you could say they're both very intelligent in their own respective ways.

Over the last few months my obsession with Inuyasha has certainly taken a landslide, though it's still my favorite show to date (I just haven't had the opportunity to view too many of the newer episodes other then the rare adult swim debuts which I usually read summaries on in advance), and recently I've begun to start browsing my bookmarked fansites again.

    And I must say...wow.

Anti-Kikyo I'm not all that shocked over, people have been bashing Kikyo since the series' debut, and while I don't feel it's justified, most of the people who bash her (bashing not meaning dislike, bashing meaning bestowing her with ridiculous character traits that don't apply to her at all and using them against her) aren't exactly the most intelligent of viewers (unless they're all dyslexic or something). But now some of the neutrals have begun to take sides as well, and Anti-Kagome fanfictions, sites, blogs, etc. have been sprouting up all over the place (probably due to the new premiere of the Inuyasha/Kikyo backstory).

To which I must say - wow, you guys are certainly swayed easily. (Not you guys as in forum go-ers, by the way). It just seems so silly to me, the Anti-Kikyo/Kagome leagues that practically wage war on one another, with everybody ignoring the true cause of the situation - Inuyasha. I'm getting rather fed-up with him, it's been 160-some episodes and he still can't make a decision. I realize it's difficult for him, it'd be difficult for anybody, but enough is enough - does he even realize what affect this is having on Kagome? (It doesn't seem to be having as strong of an effect on Kikyo, so don't think I'm favoring - not this time anyway ^_^) After viewing a the opening scene from episode 154 (The Demon That Links to the Other World), it's obvious Kagome has some paranoia issues she needs to work through, as well as some jealousy and self-confidence. I'm beginning to feel even more sympathy for her - she seems to be burrowing into a hole of self-pity and Inuyasha either hasn't noticed (the more likely) or is pretending not to (nah, he's too dense to have noticed ;)).

But seriously - if you remove the link between Kagome and Kikyo (Inuyasha) I'll bet both sides would pick up quite a few more fans. The Kagome fans (naturally) want to see Kagome with Inuyasha so they despise anything that stands in their way. Likewise, the Kikyo fans but up barriers against Kagome, and both groups are too stubborn to notice that both are dynamic characters that deserve positive outcomes at the conclusion of the series (though positive for Kikyo could mean R.I.P).

I'm not beginning to dislike Inuyasha's character (I understand how emotionally trying this must be), I'm just rather appalled at how much hate can stem from a love triangle. Bah, sorry if this post sounds rather negative/pissy, I'm cranky, tired, and really want a mocha.
