Music dream theater - Octavarium

i remember a while ago there was a short discussion on the band, and there were a number of ppl on the boards who listened to them. Lets hope they're still around. .
anyway, who has picked up their new release 'octavarium'. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the album.
i found the album to be the biggest bore i've had since titanic

 

I heard it sucked.

Except for the track "Octavarium" itself, which is supposed to be like super-epic or something.

I think I'll go "get" that album now, actually.

 

let us know what you think if you do. the title track is about 25min. on par with a change of seasons. i found it kinda listless though.

 

This isn't a bad album, it's a boring album. I could not remember any of the songs themselves for the life of me, after listening to it three times in a row. Compared to something like, say, Scenes From A Memory, which is my favorite album, and I knew all the songs after practically my first listen.

So yeah, it's a decent enough album, but I expected better from Dream Theater.
