Anyone here listen to this band? What do you think about them? explain your answers too.

The first time I heard them was in the Dragonball Z movie The History of Trunks. I think it was Pull Me Under that was played in this movie, and many other DT songs.

My favourite song of theres is A Change of Seasons

Yeah, i know Dream Theater. A friend of mine went to a Dream Theater concert, but i hadn't heard them before then. Then, one day i was flipping around on TV and on the Metal station i saw a song by them called Burning My Soul. It was good. i should re-watch the Trunks thing and ytry and hear that song. i think a song by Drowning Pool was in that movie thing too.

I love Dream Theater. I own all the albums, and have most of them signed. Been to see them in concert twice. They're great.

My current favourite song is either Misunderstood or Solitary Shell, both off of 6 Degrees of Inner Turbulence.

Hey a post about a band I like.

One of my favourite bands. I had no idea they were on a sound track to a DBZ movie.
I saw them live last november in Dublin. Easily one of the best gigs I've ever been too. They are all just amazing at what they do.
Mike Portnoy is one of my favourite drummers too, right up there with Neal Peart and Gene Hoglan.

As far as favourite songs. Well Maybe A Change of Seaons. Probably cos that was the album that got me in to them. But they've got so much other work that's just as good it's hard to choose.

They seem to get a lot of criticism too, people saying they're pretentious and wanky. But what ever they say you can't fault them as musicans.

*goes and puts A Change of Seasons in CD player*

yeah, i've got all their stuff. images and words and a change of seasons are their best. 6 degree's is pretty crap in my opinion.
he's a technician. he one of the most unmusical drummers i've ever heard. in my opinion he's holding the band back. he's been quoted as saying he makes his parts a complex as he can so he can win the 'moder drummer' (biggest drumming mag) readers polls each year. (which he usually does for progressive rock.) Neal peart is all over him. (listen to his solo in YYZ. ;) ).
prog rock hosts fantastic musicians trying to push rock as far as they can, so it has a tendency to become 'musical masturbation'.
dt just goes too far some times. They do their best stuff when they're not trying to show off. (the instrumental Hell's kitchen is awsome!.).
i listen to alot more of the flowerkings now, because they have as much or more talent, but use it always in a musical way.
    (and don't wear tight leather pants.:p ).
DT are a good band though.

I like this band. There's is few better bands though, but that's not important for now.

Scenes From A Memory is their #1 Album IMO. Live Scnes From New York is great too. 6 Degrees is okay. I don't have other of their albums.

Pick up Images and Words, which IMO is still their best work.

I think I have heard most of the tracks of Images And Words. It's good but not as good as SFAM. Metropolis is the best track from IAW.

Yeah I always find myself going back to images and words the most.
And A Change of Seasones, but only the song really.

Dream Theater is great! One of my favorite bands of all time. I have seen them two times and I am going again once their new cd comes out next month. I have all all their cds and John Petrucci is one of my favorite guitarists. My favorite album is Awake. It has great songs like Innocence Faded and Erotomania...great stuff.
