You're talking about VCD, or Video Compact Disc, format. Most DVD Players support this format of MPEG on CD which has audio comparable to CD and Video Quality of VHS.

Your media will need to be encoded into the proper format and then burned as a VCD.

www.vcdhelp.com always is a good place to start.

Be aware that you'll need a few CD's to get the whole movie or whatever in. Unless you do a DVD to DVD burn. CD's will hold, I believe up to 30 minutes in a disc....max.

Thats if its S-VCD format. Normal VCDs hold 80 minutes or so on an 80 minute disk.

I'm sitting down and typing, yet stand correct, Neph. =)

I should just go into normal VCDs from now on...

Quality is crap, though. A few DVD players can be hacked to play DivX.

Well, the only hack I found for my DVD player was to make it an all-region one...

And if the only DVD I had that it couldnt play wasnt Macross Flashback 2012, I'd probably try it.

Not the Flashback is -bad-, its just that

    a) its no big important story, just music videos.
    b) I can download a divx rip.

a program called "super dvd ripper".
the only one i have found that works. and u can d/l it and try it 9 times and see if u like it.
then u have to buy it.
but, of coarse, u can just crack it.
but i was so happy i found this, i decided to pay for it.
    heh.
oh, and it is easy to use aswell.
