Okay! Ever wanted a place where you could level up your materia quicker than everyday adventure? Down on the coast of Mideel, there are monsters named "Sea Worms." These behemoths have 9000 hp, and give out 1300 exp, 5000 gil, and a whopping 200 AP.

"Well thats all well and good, Chris, but that's still pretty slow."

    BLASPHEMER!!!!

-Ahem- Fret not, my friend, simply equip Rune Armlets on your party, and give the following members these weapons:

Cloud -- Apocolypse / Rune Blade
Aeris (If you still have her) -- Wiser Staff
    Tifa -- Powersoul
    Barret -- Drill Arm
    Yuffie -- Twin Viper
    Red XIII -- Plus Barrette
    Vincent -- Buntline
    Cait Sith -- Black M-Phone
    Cid -- Scimitar / Javelin

These worms can be pretty tough. They have a normal physical attack (Crush), Quake (Earth based), and Sandstorm (Hits everyone, can cause Darkness). They can be hit up with a Slow spell, and are suceptable to Ice.

Equip someone with linked slots in their weapon with an Added Effect==Ice Materia Combo. Also, give a Cure==All combo to someone. Slow the Worm, Haste the party, and let the fun begin.

The purpose of the Rune Armlets is to give a x2 growth rate to the materia, same with the weapons (except for Cloud's Apocolypse and Cid's Scimitar -- they give x3.).

Enhancements and all, it will still take a long time to master materia.

Most Magic Materia will take 90-100 battles, cept fro ultima, fullcure, shield, contain and comet. they'll take a bit more.

Summons can take up to 1250 battles.

Support Materia can take up to 500.

Command can take as many as 625.

Independant can take up to 400 battles.

    Enjoy!

you can do that or (follow all equipment stragies above)
you can set up a save point in that swamp area in the northern cape and fight movers and magic pots (that is if you loads of elixer) movers give 2000ap and and magic pots give loads of exp and 1500ap. also try the exp plus materia.

but hmmm i like your way better.

Why not to the W-Item Trick?
    (Refresher:)

You can get the W-Item materia in the midgar railwaytracks (the place where you fight the turks for the last time. Instead of going upwards you go all the way down. It takes some time but eventually you'll see the W-Item Materia in the bottom. Equip this on a person and start a fight. Use the W-Item and select the Item you want to get more of. Select that item, and who to give it to. When you are supposed to select another item (hey, it's the W-Item Materia (^-^) you select it and when you are supposed to give it to someone press cancel once. Then you'll return to the second Item pick and you'll see that you have an extra one of that item. Keep pressing OK and Cancel and keep going utnil you have 99 of that item. Good for elixiers and for the Magic Pots.

you could also quickly gain your AP by going into the crater and fighting the magical pots (magical something) Give them a elixer and then beat the **** out of them, they give you like 1000 AP and if you fight two of them you get 2000 and so on and so on.
anyways, there is a downside to this. Sometimes you could end of fighting the other monsters or even the master tonberry, but if you have the knight of the round he shouldn't be too much of a problem. Also fight in the mideel forest, one head hunters gives you 80 AP and they're usually in a pair of 4 sometimes 3, either way you're still getting high amounts of AP

yeah but those master tomberry gives you a lot of EXP and on top of that you can morph them into ribbons, wich are very helpful, you don't even have to use knights of round to kill them, have cloud 4x cut and have yuffie "morph" that there is like 50000hp dmg, that should morph it. oh and by the way that item thing works. i dubulacated all my items hahahaha. i still think that cheating is bad....but this is an in game cheat so its the makers own fault... :D. i have wierd belives in my games...
    but yeah thats cool.
