That's exactly why everyone is supposed to READ THE ENTIRE THING before buying.

I recently saw a Nintendo DS for sale at 40 bucks, so I'm guessing it's good. When I look closely into it though, you pay 40 bucks for the guy to "give you specific information on how to score a free Nintendo DS Via E-Mail", what a classic.

    http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=caitlincutie1&iid=

here's caitlincutie's feedback, no longer a member, ran off with the money I assume. Hopefully he paid through paypal and can get some cash back.

A lot of people go nuts and bid on "a secret to getting an ipod (or any expensive eletronic device) for free" and those auctions are way more obvious, but hardly any sellers read, or even look to see if the same item is being sold for less!

That's what he gets. But, if he paid in PayPal, the member'd have to be verified, meaning his name address, and hopefuly credit card or bank account something could be done.

If he paid with Western Union, or even cash....ROFL!

heh if you don't read the fine print then i guess you deserve to be tricked. Course i have seen a REAL X-box 360 for sale at over 10,000 or so. It was featured on attack of the Show.

Yeah, this has been pulled before. Strange that people would buy the box. Of course, lying on the internet is as easy as counting to ten. You could say, "Oh yeah, this is the premium 360 package!" and it could only be the box. Too easy. That's why I hate eBay.

that goes the same for me. but though i dislike ebay, it's still somewhat enjoyable to see all the different things people are selling, no matter how absurd it is...

and is that... 470 thing, around $600 or something?

People have to be either dumb, blind, lazy, or iliterate to read the whole thing. You should at least have some idea on what you're buying. It's like signing up for war when you don't even know what happens in war.......I'm not real sure if that was a good analogy but I tried.

    I think you made a mistake... :p

I feel bad for the guy, but you really should watch what you buy. And of course the arguement still exists, why buy a system that doesn't have many games yet? Wait until the price falls and the selection is larger. It's valid because he thought he was getting the system. :p

I've only been cheated once on Ebay, but by the time I realized it, my account had been terminated because I didn't have a credit card or an ISP email, it was old and from before they required them.

This is almost as bad as the last U2 concert here. Somebody put U2 tickets for the concert up on sale, and some guy paid over $1000 for 2 tickets. Only when he got the tickets they turned out to be bus tickets to the U2 concert.

There are some real twisted people out there.

Wow. That totally blows. I can't believe some people do that. Why can't the world just be nice to each other? Huh? I bet he didn't have any money left to actually buy real tickets. 'Tis a shame.

Funniest thing I read since I heard a man selling his virginity on eBay and got tons of replies and was forced to take it down when too many people reply.

Or all the Hello, Kitty! vibrators.

Was it a dude? i thought it was a chick, and they were bidding something like $40,000 for it.

Me and some college friends tried to do that to a guy that was really annoying us when we heard about it. We just couldn't get the account setup because none of us had a credit card. Cruel to do it without telling him... but funny :p, and he would have deserved it.

eh eh, It wasn't a picture of an x-box 360, the buyer didn't read the description, it was a box sprayed exactly the same as a x-box360 box, the details of the object explained this, it's the buyers fault, what a mong lol:D

Why? Why should caitlincutie have to pay back anything? Right there was a description of what the product was and in English, as clear as day, it said that it was a picture of an X-Box 360. If the buyer didn't bother to read the fine print then it's thier fault. She paid all that money for an image, fair is fair.

Hopefully she learns from her mistake and begins to read the fine print from now on. Better only a few Quid now, rather than thousands later when she realizes that super low loan she got for her new car was only for 3 months and now she's paying almost a grand a month in interest alone because she didn't read the "fine print".

One scumbag walked away with 450 Pounds (or what ever they use over there) while another walked away a little bit wiser.

It's a question of intent, I believe. Sure, she bought a picture. She was deliberately mislead into thinking it wasn't. Yes, it was right there, but it wasn't made noticeable, and it wasn't clear that it wasn't indeed an actual X-box 360. The seller had that intent when she posted the auction to fool someone into bidding a lot of money on something they thought was something else.

Whatever the actual crime, intent is always of greater importance, I believe.

By the way, what happened to compassion? She made a mistake and you're condemning her for it. Don't you feel sorry for her? It's not very nice of you to say "Oh, she deserved it because she made a mistake in judgement" If you'd been in that situation and someone told you that, you'd punch them in the face, wouldn't you?

But if the seller was an actual production company that had something like that in a fine print, they couldn't be touched. So, sure, pick on the seller just because the seller is a normal person.

Maybe this will teach the buyer to read. It's the buyer's fault for being so stupid.
