To me, it was a retarded version of Tobal No. 1/2...which was a retarded version of Tekken. That didn't stop me from having fun though, because Sephiroth was a cool character to use. And so was Vincent. But, to get the "best ending" took a lot of freakin' work that I didn't want to do after beating that last boss.

Actually, jusI don't think it was based on FFVII characters... it just had six or so of the characters. ^^ Personally, I liked most of all Zack, because he's my favorite FFVII character. Vincent was nice, but only in his Turk costume... his cape was much too small. I also liked how if you notice, when he charges his gun and such, when you fire it, a transluscent picture of one of his transformations from FFVII pops up (I remember mainly Choas and Death Gigas).

Almost all of those characters were from final fantasy 7, or remakess of them, lol, and a few hidden, my favorite was the upgrade of Red XIII, he is so awesome, once you unlock him

Eh, if I recall correctly, there were six actual FFVII characters... (Cloud, Tifa, Sephiroth, Yuffie, Vincent, Zack) and then the Red XIII look-alike, Django.... But I believe the rest of the characters were originals. Godhand, Jo, Lee, Inoba, Han, Koji, Naseem, Clair, Sasuke, and Yoko. Though if you want to feel special, you can see Vincent and Turk-Vincent are different characters. :p But either way, that's less than half. (Well, barely).

But you had to earn most of those characters such as Godhand, Jo, Lee, Inoba, Han, Koji, Naseem, Clair, Sasuke, and Yoko, but not al of them

Argh, i gotta get some water...almost started flaming.
*runs to fetch wooden bucket full of water and returns to his comp*

This...is...t-t-truly...Final Fantasy-blasphemy!!! In other words: I didn't like the game.
    • Put Cloud, Sephiroth, Tifa & co. in a game
    • Name it after Zell's ultimate weapon
    • Fill up the game with almost unknown characters.
    • Set the genre to Fighting
    • Distribute the game
    • Make money
Honestly, why should anyone pay attention to a game like this? I know that it isn't all bad, but it is not worthy to contain FF-characters and be related to FF. You just run around and win (in case you're Sephiroth or Cloud), otherwise you have 50% chance of winning. I don't think the minigames are that funny either.

If only the number of techniques and the size of the enviroment were a lot bigger, and there would be a good story stuck to it (Tekken 3/TT anyone?), then it would be a game worthy of playing without getting urges to turn the psx off. By the way, i'm willing to discuss the points.

I didn't think it was that bad of a game.

Then again, I didn't think it was that good of a game, either. It seemed to be more button-mashing nonsense than competent fighter game, but i got a kick out of shooting people with knee rockets, so i won't complain.

And yes, Samir, I agree -- The levels were too small and the only story i found was in "RPG Mode," and even then it was a mere semblance of a plot.

But, then again, wielding Sephi's Masamune almost made up for it.

Yes, but, this isnt a Final Fantasy game. Its a Square game with characters from other, lesser known games, and Final Fantasy 7 characters. Calling this a Final Fantasy game is like calling charcoal a diamond because of the fact that charcoals and diamonds both have carbon in them. Plus, diamonds are much better. So, in summation of my little rant, Ehrgiez = "Charcoal," Fianl Fantasy I - IX = "Diamond."

So what if Ehrgeiz has Final Fantasy characters? Ehrgeiz was an awesome fighting game...it wasn't necessarily the best one...but it was fun nonetheless. It's also the "son" of Tobal No. 1..one of the first fighting games on the PSX to feature full 3D movements.
