Can you whisper in my ear,

The words that make no sense,

That seem to leak through my mind,

And make us seem past tense.

Can you break apart the bonds

    Of subtle, feening women,

Who seem to care so very much,

Which of course is a given.

This is until they place their claim,

and dig their claws in deep.

And from the punctures in your heart,

    My jealousy seems to seep.

I'm not one to say I'm angry.

    More guilty in a way.

I feel that I should have hidden you,

Before they could steal you away.

Before they smothered you in fake love,

    Before all their feminine wiles,

Before you fell in love with them,

Their fake clothes, fake hair and fake smiles.

But I ask you this in the quiet of this room,

With my hands in my lap and my eyes closed,

"Was it really love you felt for me?

Or an elaborate sort of thing you posed?"

And you look at me, and your eyes are bleak.

And I know what you're going to say.

And all this time as the silence grows,

    I'm trying not to pray.

    Even now,

With your face to the wall,

I can see your eyes closing through the lids of mine,

And hear the beating stop, causing my heart to fall.

I never want to hear these words

But they spill from your mouth like wine,

So bitter as they are first made,

But sweeter, and richer with time.

'Sadness leaks from one's lips like eyes follow one across the room.'
