Trigun English voiceacting.. YUCK

Is it just me or does the english voice acting in Trigun suck? The subtitled version is so much better... but I guess that's to be expected. They made vash sound like a baby, they made wolfwood sound like a coward, and meryl sounds just plain stupid. Arg! everybody sounds so bad!! I can barely stand to watch it with such a shitty voice for vash on CN. Oh well. I complain a whole lot

 

I don't really like have a problem with the dubbed voices. Vash is a baby. I don't think Wolfwood sounds like a coward. Meryl is just plain stupid. The voices fit the characters. Vash isn't a bad *** so he doesn't have a bad *** voice. Vash is a whiny little baby, hence the voice. A pacifist who runs around making silly jokes and fawning over women warrants a baby voice.

 

well yeah the voices fit.. but the acting isn't very good... eech

 

Wolfwood sounds awesome in the English dub.

 

i actually thought the voice for both vash and wolfwood were well chosen and fit each character well. they may not be a+ actors but the voices were good.

i usually don't care one way or another about dubs, but i really liked the voices in this one.

 

Heh yes I suppose you are right, but the voices just sounded poor after seeing the whole series in subtitles. I was just used to their normal voices I guess, but now that I've seen the dubbed series more I've grown to like the english voices almost as much as the original.

The voices do fit. I've been watching the series from the start. I the voices are really good!

 

WolfWood sounds fine, Vash is terrible! I could do a better job!

 

I think vashs' english voice fits him perfectly. its so cute!! and milly isnt the brightest thing, so there. I havent heard wolfwoods voice yet.

 

In any case, the voice acting is not nearly as bad as in X (the movie) or some of Cowboy Bebop

 

Well, personally, I like the English voice acting a whole lot, although, I have never heard the subtitle version.

 

Yeah, I've never seen the subbed version, so perhaps I have nothing to go on, but I think the dubs for Trigun are pretty good. Vash's voice in particular seems to get stuck in my head though.

It's kind of scary to have The Humanoid Typhoon in your head wondering what time it is...

Now listen here. You people supporting the dub are saying the voices "fit", that's not a good thing. It just means they were typecast. The huge majortiy of dub actors are utterly talentless, really bad actors. They couldn't hold a torch to their japanese counterparts. As for your comments on the characters, Meryl is not stupid. If you had watched the series(subbed anyway), you'd know this, and Vash is not a whingy baby. He's a pacifist, yes, but that's one of the greatest things about his character, it's what makes the anime. Don't make it out like it's a bad thing, bloodthirstyness is not an admirable trait. It just makes you sound like a moron.
