David Lynch, 'nuff said. It's also pretty old (1977).

This movie looks HORRIBLY scary, and that's just from the images of it. Has anyone seen this and can they tell me how it is? I'm not sure that I want to see it if it's really creepy, but I am interested since I heard that it's like watching a man's nightmares on film.

Oh! Me! I saw it with my friends for one of our F.U. Fests (F***** Up movie nights), just because we heard that's it's really F.U. It's actually gross and disturbing rather than horrifying or spooky. I guess it's "creepy" sometimes. You'll constantly be saying "What the hell is going on?!?" cuz either you won't understand what's going on, or you'll see something really whack/gross.

It's in black & white, and the story drags along sometimes. It's about a mundane guy who has a mundane girlfriend, and turns out they had a baby. But the baby is really, really deformed. Well, I forgot how it ended, but let's just say that you eventually find out why the movie is called Eraserhead.

I watched it with a lot of people who constantly talked/laughed/yelled most of the time, so that spoiled the scaryness. If you watch it with the right kind of people, you'll get the same effect--it'll seem gross and comical rather than scary. But I guess... hmmm.... if you watch it by yourself, in the dark, then you WILL get freaked out. Not just by what happens, but by how the characters react to things!

And so, yeah, watch it! I reccommend everyone to watch an F.U. movie once in a while. Helps stimulate that part of your brain that hardly gets attention. :)

Thanks for the reply. It was the images of the baby that scared the daylights out of me :p Rumor has it that David Lynch used a cow fetus that he carved up a bit to make that thing.

I'm usually okay with gross and disturbing, but I'll probably watch the film with a group anyway. :) I'll have to see if I can find a good group to watch the film with, since most people I know are similarly afraid to watch it yet oddly intrigued.

You could probably order it through a website, probably wouldn't be too expensive since it's an old movie. I have to warn you though that it's in black & white, and has long periods where nothing happens. But there's this one really insane part where the main character has dinner with his father-in-law... something really bizarre happens, and the father-in-law acts like nothing happened!
