I created this thread so we can show our drawing skills evolution, what do you think?:D

when i fist started, my pics. were like this one:

    http://www.mangatoanime.com/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=chejo_cg&id=unseen

but i wasnt happy with the style, it was a bit realistic and i wanted big, cute eyes, so i changed it into something like this:

    http://www.mangatoanime.com/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=chejo_cg&id=aac

one month later it was like this:

    http://www.mangatoanime.com/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=chejo_cg&id=navdib

i was having a hard time with the face and didnt like the results, two months later my pictures had aquire certain "style", i started to like it so i worked on it:

    http://www.mangatoanime.com/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=chejo_cg&id=panties

a few months ago i finally settled up and came up with a style of my own:

    :D :D :D
Check the attachment to see my last work(still in progress n_nU)

That concludes my time line, btw, i've been drawing for around 1 year and 8 months more or less:rolleyes:

I hope you guys show us your evolution!!

That's a cool lil journey you took us on. I see that you've evolved into flattening out the chins on your characters, and getting a unique chibi look. I think I liked your style the most about halfway through its evolution.

I'll try to show my style's evolution too, although I don't have enough exemplary pics in my gallery... My first true styles were all trashed (from when I was 13-16) cuz after every few years I'd realize how ugly they were, but they were basically kinda like my style now, just that I made the faces a lil longer (or should I say, I made the jaws bigger than now). At one point, I broke out of that, like in this one: http://www.mangatoanime.com/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=seraphinx&id=aab
    And this one:http://www.mangatoanime.com/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=seraphinx&id=aae

From when I was 18, I started up my "drawing binder" where I started keeping drawings starting with ones such as the two above. In my 1/2 inch thick binder, I keep all my drawings in clear sheet protectors (inspired by the manga binder my new friend at the time had).

I experimented with hair and eyes at the time, so I didn't have a regular style yet. Also, I was merely just concentrating on faces. I tried to make a "pretty" style that was different from typical bishoujo anime kind...

I hadn't taken any good drawing classes for learning how to draw bodies yet, but from a ton of observation I taught myself to draw girls' bodies. (Not women, but girls.) Yeah, this was the time when I realized that I should start drawing thin girls, cuz that's what I'm magically attracted to:

Up until this point though, I was always spending hours and hours on every lil drawing. For example, just the face on this one took probably half an hour. (Probably took another 2-3 hours to draw her body, not even counting the shading yet!) This drawing particularly I went all out with the light sourcing, sort of applying actual art skills I learned in school.

At about this time, my personal style began to appear. ;) Last year, I finally took Life Drawing class, so I finally properly learned to draw bodies! I liked that class a lot, and even though we learned to draw realistically, I applied it to my anime-style bodies.

So my most recent style has ended up like these:

I've been doing more and more complex poses too, like in my contest entry: http://www.mangatoanime.com/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=seraphinx&id=aaf, but most of my good, complex poses haven't been scanned yet. Also, within the past two years, I've learned to draw faster by drawing a lil more simpler, using light sketches first, and from simply being used to drawing them. I'm 21 now.

ok... they're pretty interesting guys. ^^. i guess my evolution happened while here. and still is.
i started out trying to copy screenshots and general fan art. which i hand coloured, cause i had no idea what 'cg'ing' was lol.
    1
i did this for a while.... then i got a scanner and it came with a really bad cg program. and i did stuff like this.
    2
i then started doing my own stuff...
    3
after i got photoshop 5, i then went for the really cartoon look, with huge eyes and small nose mouth etc. This one is probably the height of that little stint... i was also taking out my line art at this stage too.
    4
then i did a 180 and went for realism...
    5
i guess now i'm trying to blend it all together. and i've kind of gone back to having line art in my cg's, but i add depth to my line art instead of a single thinkness like i used to do.

a virus just wiped by harddrive blank, so now i don't have photoshop 5 again, but i've got a copy of 4....:bleed:
    lookin' forward to that.:D

i'm going to start doing pics with some kind of purpose now, rather than just boring character shots. i'm also going to go into some rather different stuff...
5 i'll be taking it slow from now though...

guess that's 'bout it... i haven't being drawing long enough to have a real evolution.

I really can't show a very good evolution of my style since I never kept most of my old stuff, I don't have a scanner and after reformatting my harddrive, I found out I no longer have a copy of Photoshop or PSP. Still, I can show how my CG work has gone along.

This is an example of one of my first pre-CG art in what I call my okay stuff.

    Old Junk

This is a slightly later but favorite subject

    Cat Girl

Here is one of my first attempts to use Photoshop on an existing image

    Catgirl 2

This was my first attempt to draw exclusively with a mouse. It was with what was then a five year old computer using photoshop 4.0, the one with no history option.

    Painful

I lost patience with it and it became this

    Forgetabout it

I'd largely given up on drawing full figues for a while and drew things like this on and off

    Orange

Hope that covers everything. Now for a shameless plug. I am working on an anime tarot card deck and I need help. Details in the anime section! :D

I'm not sure what drawing style you want to see, Chejo? when drawing humans or landscapes or in general? I see mostly humanoid figures as references
