Hello, i've been taking a big brake from drawing since i don't have the time anymore (cursed job). Anyway, since i'm almost frequently on the computer, i thought a drawing tablet would be a good investment. I'm asking from those who has one, how is it? better/worse than a normal pen? hard to use..etc... The darn things cost's pretty much so id like to know what people think of em before buying one.

It's handy to use, but I've heard about alot of people who are having a hard time at first because they have difficulty with drawing while looking at the screen.

It's hard to use at first, but the more often you use it, the sooner you'll master it. (I swear, I was REALLY discouraged the first 1-2 weeks I used it.) Yup, you gotta get used to drawing while looking at the screen rather than the pen. Just remember that there are lots of benefits with a tablet. You can go from a drawing idea in your head, straight to creating it on while it's already on the computer (rather than drawing on paper, then having to scan it, then having to digitally enhance it). As for CGing, once you do it with a tablet, there's no going back to mouse!

If you're not that serious in getting one, just get a small one (like the 4x5 inch kind, which is what most young amateurs have). I think it's only if you're really serious in tablets that you get the really big, hi-tech kind. Wacom is supposedly the best company (after I did a lil research) so I bought a Wacom Intuos2.

Tablets aren't 100% accurate when you draw, plus it doesn't really feel pressure-sensitive cuz the pen tip and the tablet are both blunt. But if you master it, you can pull off some mean creations!

i don't really do much with my tablet that i couldn't do with a mouse, but it's just a funky toy to have. i'll probably never master drawing with it, but i'm getting alot better colouring jobs with it. i've just gotta find more time to use it... and m2a.^^

Mostly positive feedback. I guess i'll take a shot at it. Fortunately for me, i work at a computer store so it won't cost me anything to take one for a spin :anime:

    Thanks people for the answers.
