I don't know if this has been done before x.x anyway..

Whats everyones favourite anime settings? I just thought I would ask because I'm starting my own manga, and while I was thinking of my storyline, which is set in the near future, I came up with an idea for a thread!

My favourite anime settings are post apocalyptic, cyberpunk, anything in the future really, I feel there's much more that can be done to a storyline when its set in the future, because you have more freedom of thought, and without as much boundaries you can leave much more to the imagination. But in saying that I'm also facinated in ancient Japan, and has used some aspects of that along with my manga.

So post what your favourite anime setting is, and your thoughts on why its your favourite!

Other worlds, Fantasy ,outter space, future and the past. They are fun to fantices about and you can often get a lot of ideas when you work with them because you're not limited to what is acutaly there like when you write a story in the present time thought it can be fun too but not as much fun at the afore mentioned ones.:dizzy2: ( Hopes her insane babbling didn't confuse people)

I'd choose between Fantasy and feudal Japan... I like fantasy setting because we can clash the past with the future to create a new world... As for feudal japan setting, I like it because there is that cultural/hisotrical flavor to it.. I can't really explain how...

From what I had seen from your art .. I guess it would be better & easier for you to make a normal life anime .. you know .. like DEtective Conan but with out the Detective thing :sweat2:

Your art is good for a romantic story .. but if you want an openion .. I would say the same .. :sweat2:

My favorite theme in an anime or any kind of story has to be fantasy. I expecailly like them since they usually are so different from are lives/ reality.

And my favorite setting is probably near the beach since it's my favorite place to be. Good luck on your manga story.;)

I'd say Fantasy, Medievil, and Space. I love the pretty stars twinkling all around you, the planets wizzing by, and that asteroid heading towards you.;) :D :D

Fantasy. Any type, but mainly like Final Fantasy. A mixture of magic and technology I think is best. Sci Fi and Cyber Punk are good too. Actualy, something else I like are fusions, like mixtures of Cyberpunk, Westerns, Horrors and stuff like that.

It's a toss up. Every setting has things I like and dislike...

    1) Modern. I can just relate to it the best.
    2) Sci-Fi. I like interesting versions that don't involve too much mecha.
    3) Fuedal Japan. Just cause it's cool. What a sucking explanation, ne?

For the record, I dislike the setting mixups (like the FF8 hi-tech with lower tech magoc/weapons)...

BakaMattSu, in the end, it takes more than just setting to make thins enjoyable....even if it is a big factor.
