Just in opposition to the other post.
And cos my two fav bands are Canadian.
The Devin Townsend Band and Rush.
Also as far as I know the Canadian supports it's aspiring musicians far more than the US(you can get a $20,000 grant to do a debut album, or at least you used to, if you get a record deal from it you gotta pay em back and if you don't you don't pay squat)
No I'm not Canadian but I'm going to Vancover next year.
    Go Canada!

    Yeah they're english.
So that doesn't qualify them as Canadians.
    Not even close.

:') Mad Hamish, you dear. I have relatives in Vancouver! .... Right. Rush eh? Rush? Hm. Have a CD of theirs around here somewhere. Tis an oldie though. Self titled one, big pink letters, black and white background. Interesting. Em. Favorite canadian ...... Well, we have meh hometown boys : Crush, Great Big Sea, ^-^ me neighbors are in those bands, rock on. There's also The Hip. But I only like some of their songs, I'm picky. Nelly Furtado, I love. There's Natural Selection. No one knows who they are though. They're from Westville, just got a new CD put out. Effin rocks imo. Yeah. If I think of any more I'll be back. Tad early right now to be thinking.

with a big explosion behind it. Yeah that'd be their first album. While I still like it I would consider it their worst album. If you wanna see what they are like you could pick up a collection there's plenty of em, best thing would be to pick up one of their classic albums like 2112 or Moving Pictures.

Also Strapping Young Lad, Annihilator and Voivod. Canadian heavy metal! (damn it, no head banging smiley face available)

edit: yeah on the first album they didn't even have Neil Peart, one of my favourite and one of the greatest drummers ever(writes most of the lyrics too).
