Ach, this is a tough one. My taste changes on quite a few variables, which i will not name. My favorite would be from Marilyn Manson, either Organ Grinder or Doll Dogga Buzz Buzz Ziggity Zag(nice name for a song, eh?)

Em. Americans didn't create the English language. So no.

My favourite American song would be most anything by Rage Against The Machine. Or Tool.

Also: Why American songs in particular?

    Boo America.

    .....heh.

Yes. I likes anything by Michelle Branch. There's a lot of American artists out there. I'm hoping for an equal amount of mainstream Canadian artists. Good ones. *shudder* *stabs avril lavigne* .....good ones such as The Tragically Hip...or Nelly Furtado. And yes, she does rock. Fskin awesome live.

Well, on my playlist of my best mp3's, I have so many favorite American songs, especially from very little-known Freestyle singers. (Feels so nice to listen to great songs that hardly anyone knows about!) Like "Never Gonna Let You Go" by Tamara, "Say You'll Be Mine" by Rockell, and "Always Coca-Cola" by Joey Diggs (that's right... the soda!) I also like "Invisible Man" by 98 Degrees, since that's how I felt with nearly every girl I've liked.

Hey, I got that song! (when I went on a sudden downloading rage for techno songs last year!) Well, I guess from now on whenever I play it I'll remember it's Yasuko-chan's song. ;) (Of my techno songs, I can't even tell which ones are European and which are American. But most of my favorite techno comes from Lee Jung Hyun who is Korean, and Tatu who are Russian.)

Aww, you're right, hardly anyone on this site likes hip-hop except for us and a few others. Of the few mainstream rappers today, I guess one of my favorite songs would be "The Next Episode" by Dr. Dre & Snoop cuz the rhythm is solid and great to dance to. Whenever they play it at a club everyone gets all hyped!

Dre and Snoop were always a great team. If my love of rock wasn't so much stronger, I'd probably say my favourite was either Still Dre or Nuthin But A G Thing.
Overall, my favourite American song is probably Black Magic Woman by Santana. He's Mexican originally, but the song was recorded in the USofA, so there you go.
Of course, if you just want pure Americana, then I'll say Anti-Flag's Die For Your Government.
All the really good English stuff is either British or Canadian, though.
