It's already been established that Tenkuu no Escaflowne has a wonderful soundtrack which incorporates the talents of some incredible individuals. Which songs or musical pieces are your favorite, and why?

Personally, I love "Chain," it's one of those terrific pieces that inspires me when I'm writing or drawing. It has a beautiful sense of the forbidden. "Epistle" and "Shadow of Doubt" also really draw you into the mood. And "Hikari No Naka E" is just pretty, as is "White Dove."

I have to say that my favorite song is in the movie it's... shoot i just forgot it's name anyway it kinda sounds like this to me:

Wing chime, a lo ti ca, el vie to li, sei loe ta. Wing chime a lo ti ca, en dah go rah, sei lain. Vi vrah ah new, as tai ya, en ni ca ree.

I know i haven't heard the whole song but i'm always singing this one in the halls. ^_^ my best friend Akasha says that i sing it just as well as the lady that does in the movie and it gives him goosebumps....

That'd be "Sora." A snippet of the lyrics:

    Win dain a lotica
    En vai tu ri
    Si lo ta
    Fin dein a loluca
    en dragu a sei lain
    Vi fa-ru les shutai am
    En riga-lint

I believe i heard from some place and some time is that the words in that song is a completely made-up language, so it's neither Japanese or any *official* language really...is that true? just curious.

Ah! Sora is my favorite too! it's just so beautiful and pretty...hold on, beautiful and pretty are the same thing. Damnit. - -

Well, the singer's voice is beautiful, and the music is pretty. Yeah that's it. :p

I'm pretty sure they're made up too. They're some language from the movie that Van knows. Crap...he mentioned it int he movie and I can't remember what it translated to (something about the dragon) OR how he knew it. -- I think it was an folk song of his people. *shrugs*

Anyways, my other favorite Esca songs as far as vocals go would be Yuubiwa and Aoi Hitomi. (Ya gotta lovr Maaya Sakamoto. How could you NOT love her?) And for background music, Dance of Curse damnit! Ya know, it's the song that plays when Escaflowne gets into action (and it has that annoying chorus going 'Esca...Flowne.....Esca...flowne...' over and over again). Of course this includes the movie version which was called Dance of Curse II, and the other song from the movie, Black Escaflowne. ^^

Well, the stuff sung by Sora may or may not be the language of the Dragon People (Draconians), not sure. (Either way, it is a ficticious language.) The song from Dryden's pub is the one that Van knows, and it's definitely Draconian. That's why he was able to translate it for Hitomi.

Well, the one Sora sings seems to be the same as the one in the pub. The only difference I see in the lyrics is that Sora's is longer with more lyrics.

    *shrugs* Oh well.

I love the song Sora. I play it all the time on my violin. It is a really catchy tune. The same with Yubiwa.
