Okay, this thread became inspired when I saw someone call the ending to the movie Fight Club "lame". So, here's the deal, rather self-explanatory. Tell the people here the best endings to a movie, in your opinion.

Note: This should be a no brainer boys and girls, this is OBVIOUSLY gonna contain SPOILERS, okay? So, beware...

My top five off hand have to be the following:

Fight Club: I don't think I even have to EXPLAIN this one; if you've seen the movie, you know.

Se7en (Seven): Another great, just because it's towards the end we now know who the killer is (Kevin Spacey) and we know just how much of a bad*** actor he is. Yet another movie that lacks the typical Fairy Tale book ending when Brad Pitt ends up completing Kevin Spacey's mission for him, just as was planned. All in all, here, the bad guy wins folks. In my opinion, that's the making of a good ending.

Donnie Darko: Okay, this whole MOVIE was great, and just entirely and totally trippy, though yet again another sad ending when we get to see the plane engine fall and kill poor Donnie. A sad moment in movie history, I'm sure, right next to Bambi's mom being iced and the Old Yeller euthanasia.

The Usual Suspects: Again, this is another one. The bad guy gets away (and ironically enough, yet again, the bad guy is Kevin Spacey. Damn he's good at this). Pushed and pulled through the whole movie to believe who did all of this and just one of the last scenes where Kevin Spacey is limping away and just, in the middle, starts walking normally. BAM. It hits us. "Bad guy" wins again.

Requiem For A Dream: Okay.. Jared Leto has the plan for him, his girlfriend and best friend (Marlon Waynes) to get outta the dip**** city they're in and make it big, while his mother idly prepares herself for a supposed game-show appearance on television. Of course things go horribly wrong. Leto gets caught and his arm has to get amputated because of the infection of his shooting up, Marlon Waynes gets busted and thrown into jail, Jared Leto's girlfriend ends up starting to sell herself to get money for cocaine and Jared Leto's mother winds up hooked on speed (and I don't mean that cheesy Keanu Reeves flick). Another sad ending but oh-so-great.

(I know, I know, I'm sadistic, so sue me)
Well those are my top five. Now it's time for you people; go ahead and share your favorite movie endings.

Dang, I'm gonna have to agree with you on almost all of those (I've not seen the last two :p ). But, since we need something else to go off of, I'll add a few.

Edward Scissorhands - A lot of people hated this movie, and I cannot for the life of me understand why. It was well-written, with a great plot, and ended in one of the most magnificent ways imaginable. Besides, it's Tim Burton, how can you go wrong?

The Matrix (the first movie) - You have to admit, the first movie ended extrordinarily well.

Alright, that's all I can think of at the moment, but I'm pretty braindead right now anyway, so I'll probably think of more later.

Well, you've already listed two of them. In addition to Fight Club and Se7en:

Memento-The ending provided the final piece of the puzzle that is this movie (it's a cliched thing to say, I know, but it's true). Also, since the movie is told in reverse chronological order, the ending of the movie is actually the beginning of the story, so the ending is not the traditional ending at all. Um, yeah. Moving on...

28 Days Later-Okay, this movie does have the traditional "happy" ending, but after all the hell and torment that the characters went through, they deserved a happy ending. Then one has to consider the alternate endings that were considered for the movie such as a not-so-happy one, another in which humanity is completely and totally wiped out, and one in which the male lead is replaced with a chicken. Hey, I liked it anyway.

If I think of any more, I'll post 'em.
