    I wouldn't put APC on their as 'alt. rock'.

    I'd have to say that Modest Mouse is pretty much it for me.

    Some people like to say Sonic Youth as a "Rock Alternative" so I'll put them for ****s and giggles (well, really because they just kick so much ***).

    Wilco and The Flaming Lips as well could probably fit into it. Only heard a couple songs by Hot Hot Heat but they're cool, as well.

    Great band.Ben Gibbard has an excellent voice.:)

    However,if you consider Indie/Lo-Fi rock as alternative,then you should perhaps check out some of these bands and prepare to start living:

    • Interpol
    • Cursive
    • Bright Eyes
    • The Postal Service
    • Guided By Voices

    I dig The Rasmus and I dont know if this counts but The Strokes are also very cool.

    As a matter of fact, Disturbed isn't alt. rock.

    I also have to mention Franz Ferdinand...f*ck, 'Take Me Out' is just too addicting...not that I'll buy their album.
