I didn't know wheter to put it in FF or Video games or RPG so I desided to put it here seen all Square makes is RPGs.

Saga Frontier is an awesome game that doesn't get any credit, but it deserves a lot, even for something that was slightly repetitive seven times over. It was still an awesome game that was repeatedly bashed just because it didn't have FFVII graphics. I loved the game, and just wish I still had it. x_x

Saga Frontier Is truly great, although a tad bit cofusing.
    I want saga frontier two.

    BUT.

The best RPG Series will always be Shining Force and Phantasy star.

I like all the square games that I've played, but my favourites are the Final Fantasy series. Square probably have the best record of making games of any company ever.
By the by, I think should go on the FF board, when you think FF, you think square, and when you think square, you think FF.

I agree...PE was excellent. Well, the first was totally amazing. Perfect mix of RPG and action. The second however...they got a little too much action and the story wasn't as...captivating. I admit that it was funner because it was a lot harder, the end boss is just BRUTAL and you didn't even have the Super Eve transformation thing......and that just made it harder. But the first was total blend...you had to get stronger and customize guns if you really wanted to get anywhere. And the empire state building area was just hard too...so much so that I didn't even touch it in my second game. :D

Alas, I do not have a FAVORITE Square game, they make very good quality games. So I'm at a crossroads and therefore, won't answer. :D

No big surprises here. The Final Fantasy series was the one that started it all, and it's no surprise that it continues to be the cutting edge of Square's releases. There's no telling how much longer they can keep adding on numbers... :p

Brave Fencer - I played the first half-hour's worth, and that was entertaining...maa, I want to play more...

    Xenogears - no comment.

Chrono - a nice series, but I think the fans of it overrate it a little much. Having tons of endings never was tempting enough for me to go thru the whole game again...

Parasite Eve - very good dark mood action/rpg. Frustrating at times, but good nonetheless. I have yet to play the 2nd game, but I own the first.

Bouncer - good beat 'em up combined with rpg elements. The only problem is that it is a beat 'em up...after a while you get sick of just kicking around the same 2 or 3 enemy types...I'd be interested in seeing Square try that genre again, though maybe in a new way...

Seiken Densetsu (Secret of Mana/Evermore, Threads of Fate) - more action with rpg elements. So-so, though I admit I came into the Secret of Mana series looking for the classic rpg and was a little let down at first.

Romancing SaGa (Romancing SaGa, SaGa Frontier, Final Fantasy Legend) - Square's other BIG series, that really didn't get ported too well over here. The Romancing SaGa was entirely overlooked (too bad, it's good, too), and the gameboy versions were disguised as 'Final Fantasy' in order to bolster sales on a familiar name outside of Japan.

Vagrant Story - played very little of it...just wasn't in an rpg mood at the time.

Super Mario RPG (but NOT Paper Mario) - I've commented before on how great Square did at taking an existing familiar world of platform games and gave it their own personal touch. Vandal Hearts should be similar in this respect... :)

Breath of Fire (but none of the sequels) - another good one. A lot of things set up in this original filter to every other game taht follows...

Live-A-Live - another underdog that didn't see release out of Japan. I believe you can find a translation of the emulated version somewhere. It's a unique game which incorporates stories ranging from cowboys to robots...

Chocobo Series (Chocobo's Racing, Chocobo's Dungeon) - nice time wasters, but not long attention grabbers...

Bushido Blade - fun, realistic combat in feudal Japan. What more could you ask for? :p

Front Mission - another Tactics style game...with mechs. While it doesn't carry the story or magical feel of FFT, it offers fun for any fans of that style...

Bahamut Lagoon - I haven't quite figured it out, but it has recently been fully translated in the Emulation world...it is tactical style again, I think...

Rudra's Secret Treasure - I would love to be able to understand katakana just to play this one...I can't stand there being a square game I haven't tried... :(

I know I've missed tons besides these, too...I just know it!

This post should be in the Video games section, because This section is for RPG posting games.

^_^ now back on topic: I LOVE them all!
Square just have a way with games.
I like the FF series, Saga Frontier, PE, and Bouncer the best.

Actually, I think Squaresoft had to do with the first BoF only, but the other three are Capcom. Don't quote me on that, though, not entirely positive. I'm going to be getting the game soon anyway, so... :p

They sold the BoF liscense after BoF1.Squaresoft also sold the Xenogears liscense, which is why Namco(not Squaresoft) is making Xenosaga.

    Definatly...

I had to choose Final Fantasy Series as i am a big fan of all the Final Fantasy games.

Right now i'm still saving up for Final Fantasy 10 as i carn't wait to play it, oh and a playstation two, but i think i'll get it of my mom, she might get it for me for christmas, cool moms heh.

so i had to go for FF as they are brilliant, there like a world of there own, its like one disk holds a new dimension, if you play it to long you might begin to think that you are really in it.(as i have had experience)

If your reading this and you havn'y played any final fantasy then i suggest you pick up your lazy but and go buy one and play it, they are awsome.THERE THE BEST GAMES IN THE WORLD...oh no there not, Suikoden is.hehehehe

How about the Bushido Blade series? Darn stylish and it certainly beats the pants off Square's other efforts at fighting games (Tobal No.1 and the aforementioned Bouncer).
