    Yeah, anyway.

I figured out through much dinking around that the cutout effect on Photoshop does interesting things to a pencil sketch. Thus I present a much messed with sketch of two characters for a story I'm working on (the idea itself is in the fiction section), Eros and Yukie. The song lyrics at the bottom are from a pretty song called "Open Your Heart" by Yuki Kajiura. The quality is a bit icky because I had to shrink the thing in Paint.

Please host that somewhere where people can actually access it. I'm sure one of the moderators of the forum can help you set up a gallery, if you'd like to.

I just checked and took the link out after I saw it was broken, didn't realize people had already gone to look. Right after I took the bad link off, people had tried it already without my knowledge. Sorry!

It's small right now, but it was the only way I could get it to not load slooowly. I was hoping it would work well as an attachment, but it really doesn't. I'll try to get it into a gallery as soon as I can so it can be enlarged.

The file size is so big cuz it's not a jpg file (as it says in the file name)... it's actually a bmp. So it's about 370 kb rather than 50 or so. You don't need to resize it as long as you have it as a jpg file.

I don't really notice the effect you're talking about. All I see is that large parts of the line art are red in the middle. Can you put a "before" pic so we can compare the two?

poom-poom -- I suck at PhotoShop and I know it. :p I really only use it to enhance sketches and darken them up, not much more than that, so yes, I'm pretty bad.

The before image is very light, since I don't use too many heavy lines when I draw, and the thing isn't inked. It is amazingly difficult to see right now, I'd have to lower the contrast first and darken it up.

The cutout effect is not very noticeable at all in this one, and I think it's because there's an absence of a lot of shading. All it really does is make the lines a little thicker looking and smoothes them out a bit, and it takes away the "square of light" that my scanner tends to leave when I scan things. I'm trying to get a gallery, but it's not up yet. When it is I'll try to get the before and after ones up.

Hm, according to my computer the small image is a JPEG and should be 59.2 KB. What happened to it? 0_o

the art is awesome! but umm tbh I laughed at it being a bit corny.. its just me so don't sweat. I mean because of the .hack/sign thing.. and 'opening your heart' to oh so much more..what could it be, yukie? lol.

anyways, I love the colour and the line is superb ^__^

Yeah, well... Eros was technically the god of lust, not love, after all... Hee. Yukie apparently doesn't know that, please forgive her, she's a dense little thing. :D

Thanks for the compliment. I'm glad people are looking at it despite the file problems I've had with the silly thing apparently not being JPEG despite what my computer says it is. :p

Anyway all, thanks for looking at the thing despite various technical difficulties. :)

Thats a nice effect with the photoshop-ping. I may have to try that one out myself

    ...

<--- got photoshop about a week ago and cant figure out how to use it for the life of him.

Oh yeah - 1 problem: The god of lust also looks like the god of overbite :p :p sorry, only joking - but his lower half does seem a little, urm... BIG.

Heh, the pose was based out of one from the "How to Draw Couples" book (I can't draw kissing people for anything, so I base freehand drawings of my characters on poses I see in the book). The guy's lip really was like that in the model in the book. I tried to mess with it and make the smile not as large and odd looking, and I just ended up making the lips look stranger. :p

And because I love you all, you can stop looking at that eyesore and see the full prettiness of the bigger image in my gallery.
