Video Games Fighting Game Celebration

I've noticed that all the video games I have an urge to but right now are fighting games: Soul Caliber 2, Tekken 4 and Virtua Fighter Evolution. Also, my latest issue of GMR magazine features a huge section on the history of the fighting genre. In honour of fighting games everywhere, let's talk about our favourites, and the contributions they made on the genre.

One of my favourites is probably the original Virtua Fighter. I had this game on 32X, and I loved it. The graphics were less realistic than other fighters I had played at the time, but it was just about the only 3-D fighter out there. I'm actually considering buying Virtua Fighter Evolution just because the original game is included as an extra feature.
I'm also looking forward to picking up Soul Caliber 2, as soon as I can scrape together the cash for it. I wish I had an X-Box, because that version gets Spawn as a hidden character. PS-2 fans like me are stuck with Heihachi. Blech.

 

My all time favorite is Soul Calibur 2... it all started back in the original Soul Calibur days.
