i heard that ff4 was the hardest final fantasy, and i think it is living up to it's rumor. i have almost all the ff, execpt for the cheap ones with titles, rather than a number. so i quit playing ff4 because it takes to long to level up and the minions keep making me them there, well you know what , so is it true ?

My friend says that FF2 and FF are the hardest b/c you dont get some of those items you get in the other FF games like pheonix down and etc. He has beaten all FF games except FF2 so I am gonna have to say FF2 is the hardest and I have seen him play and he is VERY good at FF.

Think you're under some confusion. FF4 is one of the easiest in the series.

Yet, it had two different releases - An "Easy Type" and a "Hard Type", which might be where you heard of it being hard. When it was first released outside of Japan as FF2, the game was based from the Easy Type. I believe the more recent Chronicles PSX release was built on the Hard Type.

I don't find the hard type much more difficult, if at all harder. It just features more items and extra scenes from what I've experienced.

The "ones with titles" aren't quite all that cheap, with the exception of "Mystic Quest" which is just sad.

Actually Quisty, i was play origan FF2, not the PS, Snes, FF2,4

and i might add i do think that game is the EASIEST FF i have played and i have almost the FF's
    1,2 nes
    1,2 legends and adventure
    Mystic quest, FF2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and i have beaten 10
    (i don't have a Ps2)

and although they said it was the "HARD" mode version, i must say that buying cronicals was the biggest waste of money, cause not only did i already have crono trigger (snes) but the FF4
was even easier then the Snes version, WHY you ask, 'cause they made it so that you could run, that made the game go by SO fast, i beat it in 10hours, yawn then never played it again.
like i said a big waste of 72 dollars.

    OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
yes i'm that friend and im just about done FF2 origins
all my characters are power houses (yes even the girl)
my lowest hp is 1500 and highest is 3450 AND i don't die that much anymore, quisty, yeah i know about the magic rising lvs,
and how to build them my Cure is LV12. and Holy is LV5
although i don't use magic that much ecept fo the stat up Kind.
    like berserk and such.
I don't have trouble any more though.

FF1 - Yes. Tons of times on the NES incarnation, halfway on Wonderswan, 1/4 way on Origins. Was one of my first RPGs.
FF2 - Nope. I abhor the system of no levels and using skills to increase them. Worked for QFG, but not for FF
FF3 - Yes. Once, through emulation. Good game if a bit tough at times.
FF4 - Yes. Fairly short and easy, but one of my favorites.
FF5 - Yes, twice. Through emulation again. Good game, needed a bit more plot.
FF6 - Yes, twice. Once thru emu, once on a real SNES. Wasn't particularly fond of it, for some reason.
FF7 - Yes, twice. PC version. Great game, but most already know that.
FF8 - Yes, 1 1/2. PC Version. Good game, with some glaring problems.
FF9 - Yes. Twice, PSX. Someone mangled my 3rd disc, so I can't play this great one again until I buy another copy. GRrrr.
FF10 - Nope. Don't own a PS2. Played about 15-20 hours of it. Not impressed to the level of buying a PS2 for it.
FF11 - Nope. MMORPG. I will not touch it.

FF: MQ - Nope. Ich. About 60% thru and wondered how I'd pushed myself that far.

FF: Tactics - Nope. Not sure how far I am. 2nd or 3rd Chapter. The random battles really drag on the gameplay.

FF: Legends - Nope, but not counting them, as they belong to the SaGa series, honestly.

FF: Adventure - Nope, see above, but replace SaGa with Seiken Densetsu.
