Square Enix Final Fantasy News!

Final Fantasy Origins will feature both Final Fantasy I and Final Fantasy II on a single disc for the Playstation console. The games have been completely revamped in terms of graphics, gameplay, music, and storyline. New difficulty modes will also be added, with an "easy" mode for beginners and a "hard" mode for experts.

Opening and ending FMVs have been added to the game, as well as an option for viewing them at any time after finishing the game. An art gallery featuring Yoshitaka Amano's sketches, a bestiary containing information on defeated monsters, and a quick-save option are among the already confirmed extras. Expect to see other extras similar to those found in Final Fantasy Chronicles or Final Fantasy Anthology in this new package.

Final Fantasy Origins will be released in North America somewhere in April 2003 for the Playstation console. A PAL release has not been confirmed

I thought i heard about this earlier...i think they made snes gfx with it. But it costs a little too much to actually be worth it.

 

Final Fantasy Origins is slated for a PAL release, ahead of the US release as a mater of fact(eat that you yank bastards, HAH). I'll buy it. Yup.

 

Things i know about FF X-2

It might come out in fall or winter of 2003 in the U.S, it did in japan this March.
As for the characters, Lulu and wakka r to return in some capacity, and Kimahri is almost shoe-in for a cameo, at least.
Yuna will travel with 2 other characters throughout the game,Rikku and a new female character.


Yuna has changed more than just her outfit...she also has a new attiitude as a result of having to bear such a heavy burden in FFX.
ALSO, she can no longer summon creatures, since all of the aeons went away at the end of FFX (why explain why she's carrying pistols).
yuna will return 2 some spots from FFX, and explore brand-new areas.

There is now a mysterious "hover" command while on the field. and u can dash,jump and climed on things.
There r new vechiles...such as a ship and a hover bike for u to zip around on.
There will also be plenty of new mini-games (hopefully not as infuriating as Biltzball), and a totally new leverl-up system that doesn't use the sphere bored in any way.

FFx's battle system is being compe;etly redone...there will be no overdrives or overskills, and the battle director from FFX won't even be involved.
Also, the game won't be a liner as FFX;u'll have access to many locations right from the start.
I'm also pretty sure that yuna will go try her hand unerwater battels at some point in the game (she's been practicing holding her breath, after all ((remember?)) ).

now yuna's looks...
first off, pick ur jaw up off the floor and slap ur self 4 looking at yuna's legs like that!!! now yuna's gotten herself some girl power. she's packin guns, showing a lot more skin, and the large Zanarkand Abes symobol on her chest is a nice tribute 2 Tidus.
yuna will take over the lead role with a vengeance; she's got a new attitude 2 gp with her 2 guns, and she ain't gonna take any crap.

And hey!, the chocobos r still there, would enjoy seeing yuna rideing 1 of them

 

Two of the mini games are "Desert mining" & "Sphere breaks" DM is basically like treasure hunting & Sb is some kind of coin game

As for new characters;

Nooj, the leader of an alliance who oppose the teachings of yevon, lost his arm & leg thanks to sin, mecha arm 7 leg

Paine, Doesnt say anything bout him

No mention of new female cast though

& they brought back Chocobo breeding & Training

 

*Flicks through magazine* Well it didnt say anything here... Hence the slight gender mistake there:sweat:

& there seems to a whole clothes changing theme in the game... as well as just weapons & armour... Yuna learns enemies tecgniques when wearing a particular costume (Did she skin Kimahri & wear him? lol)

As though I am a great Fan of FF's..im not really sure if Ff-2 will be good as the rest or will it crash and burn...The whole game is based around Girls and You end up fighting Tidus...Even though i will be buying and will beat it i dont know if it will be that great or not...By the way Yuna's Hot and of course Rikku!

Well, it sounds good. What in FFX-2 is the same as FFX? Also, did the Japan version get good reviews?

Paine reminds me of Spike from the old Degrassi Tv Show episodes LOL. Yeah it's spelt Paine though.

 

A friend of mine played it in japanese and ggave us a review. So if you wanna know the whole low down on FFX-2 go here

It also uses the job system, and you can change your outfit in battle. In case you didn't realize, it's mainly fanservice. ~_^

Well, I have a PERFECT example of Yuna changing her outfit. It's in the opening sequence of the game, it shows Yuna singing and Rikku and Paine are trying to break the securaty(SORRY I forgot the website I found it in). It's what you call a movie sequence but... It's NOT screenshots it's real time and it's on Winamp or Windows Media Player. I can send it to you guys if you want to watch it. Oh did I mention its in Japanese, so those of who who can speak Japanese like me you fine, but if you cant and you dont mind Japanese(besides it's mostly a song.) And if you don't like japanese then you don't have to watch it.
