Advent Children, the sequel to the hit Playstation One game back on 1997, and still very popular among fans.

It's the story of Cloud Strife, who struggled with becoming a Soldier for a company that took the life of the planet, and created the most powerful weapon, a soldier named Sephiroth.

Two years after defeating Sephiroth is when the story for Advent Children takes place. The planet is still showing its anger with grief, and the children are the first to suffer.

A virus called Geostigma is affecting children all over the planet, and are constantly dying.

Meanwhile, a trio of silver haired men come to Midgar, in search for their mother, and want to get the children on their side, for help with the 'Reunion'.

Cloud himself is into a bit of denial at the moment, claiming he has lost the will to fight, but along the movie, he's preety much a hypocrite since he's got the best fighting skills than all the characters combined.

Story wise Advent Children is obviously Fan Service, but it's not a bad thing. The story is preety entertaining, and the visuals are more than perfect. It's a good treat. The only bad part with it is that it will seem that most of the movie is made of either conversations, and the rest fights. Nonetheless, entertaining.

As mentioned, the visuals are perfect. The faces look to the nearest of Anime, and the action looks at its best.

The DVD packs both 5.1 English and Japanese Surround Sound. The PSP UMD only packs the english track. Both releases however pack over eight subtitles, that include English, Spanish, Cantoneese, Mandrin, Dutch, among others. So it's a movie everyone can enjoy.

The PSP UMD packs NO extras, whereas the DVD has the 're-cap' of Final Fantasy VII on the first Disc, and other Extras like Making of, Deleted Scenes, and Trailers on the second disc. And a third disc for those faithful fans that includes a documentary with the actors of Final Fantasy VII.

Alltogether, this makes the finest straight to DVD release, it's just a shame that it was released so much later than the Japanese release.

Alltogether, Final Fantasy Advent Children earns the following scores:

    PSP UMD-7.0
    + Entertaining, worth watching
    - More like, worth renting, no extras?
? Why isn't the menu at least the same as the DVD?

    DVD-8.0
    + Entertaining, worth buying
+ Lots of extras that keep you entertained for a while
+ Both tracks on a glorious 5.1 Surround sound
    + Visually Mastered
    + Tons of Subtitles
    - Plot can get weak at times, and confusing for the non players
? If the third disc only brings a 15 minute video, why bother putting it in a third disc?
