Art first good drawing in a long while!

Hi folks, I hardly come to these forums anymore. Sorry! But I do check for PM's and some of the artwork everyday.

I drew this at a manga-drawing clinic/club here in Hawaii. (called Manga Bento). It's made with real manga art tools (manga paper, quill ink pen, etc.). I forgot to erase my pencil marks before scanning... :blush: but I enhanced/retouched it with PSP7 and OC3.03 (as well as fixing some lines, and CG-shaded the eyes).

Colored version coming up in a few days!

 

Thanks. Yeah, the paper is nice and smooth, so it takes on mechanical pencil and ink really well. But overall I'm not that comfortable using ink cuz I tend to make mistakes. Best of all, I like CGing!

Observant! Yeah, I made it so that the viewer is supposed to be taller than her. Whenever I draw with perspective, I take into account where the viewer's eye-level would be. (In this case, higher than the top of her head.) It makes such differences such as how much of the neck would show, how long the legs appear, and how big the head would look.

 

I finished coloring the girl.... Now I'm doing the background. The trouble is I didn't draw out the background in the first place, but that's okay. I think I'll use my advent-calendar-background technique, heheheh!

I originally made her hair greenish blue, but I couldn't find a good eye color to match. So I changed to purple hair (which I don't wanna overuse). The brown pants... I didn't want something too bright, plus I got the inspiration from actual brown pants that I bought two weeks ago.
