Art First post!

Hey, I've been looking around at everybody's art and wow! There's definately some talent in this group! So I thought to myself "self...you should really join and learn what you can from these people..." And here I am. I hope to get lots of tips and pointers from such gifted folk like yourself. I'll try attatching the first anime pic I ever drew (seems appropriate), but it didn't get colored in until recently. All comments and criticism is most welcome!

okay.. here are some points ... (i don't really like to point these out but i think i should just so.. that the pics can improve more and more by the time and i think that u will improve fast ^^
okay:

- first... the nose doesn't fit quite well... it's liek if the nose was smashed to the other way -_-'
- second.. the eyes are not lined up (just like mine.. i can't draw good on thoughs and i am trying to improve)
-third... the neck might look better if it was .. hmmm.. not that .. wide??? how could i say this.. normally in a girls anime* neck.. it's not that thick... (u know what i mean?)
-fourth...i like the hair ^^ and the coloring
-fifth...kinda put some folds on the clothing and it will look better
-sixth...the back round looks good to me ^^

well.. okay.. i'll stop it.. you'll think i'm a very annoying person now.. U_U.. gomen..

It doesn't look like a woman,but in it's own way...it's really cool.Did you paint it?It's a nice paint job for your first picture.With improvement,you could be very good.

 

Yea! People responded! Good good. Yes I know there are numerous glaring problems with the pic, thankyou for your candid honesty in pointing them out (just what I'm looking for ) It just has a certain charm for me since it was the first pic (anime and otherwise) that I drew after ending a long term relationship where I hardly drew at all. Nah, I didn't paint it, I used markers and then a paint program, but thanks for the compliment! It might behoove me to post something more recent perhaps.

 

First of all, let me just say the coloring style is really neat. And the hair is cool. Really cool. But, pointers: (although I am no professional myself)...

-Misao is right, the nose is warped. If you maybe make it a tiny bit smaller and not so...well, it's kind of off center when you look at it. Since it's a front view ummmm, hard to explain. Try these sites : expressions

Just some pointers. They might not be to your liking, but what the hell, try em out anyway! ^^

-The neck is too thick and too long. The face shape is really good though. It just needs to match the neck! heh.

-Eyes are neat, but kinda crooked. (I suck at them too, no worries, jebus) She seems to have more eyelashes on one than the other.

-the collarbone should be a teeny bit closer to the shoulder. But, you just have to get to know your basic human structuring before we get into that.

Hi, well first of all, on first glance I didn't even notice whether or not the eyes are lined up. I think their placement is okay compared to some of the REALLY crooked stuff some people draw.

Mostly I like the highlighting in the hair. It's an interesting style.
