  1. This is going to take a while...

However, the first translation is up! Point your browsers to:

As you will see, I have kept the formatting and layout of the page as close
    as possible to the original.

I will likely move these files to another location (geocities or similar)
    sometime soon.

FWIW, I have used MS Publisher to layout the pages. I have grabbed the
original line drawings and touched them up with English translation also.
The Publisher document is then printed using FinePrint 2000 printer software
which allows direct export of a printed document to a BMP file. The file is
then converted to GIF and reduced in size by adjusting the palette down,
which reduces the file size dramatically (from 25MB BMP down to 187KB GIF in
the first one). The files are quite large, but this provides better results
    when printing.

The first time round, working stuff out has taken a good 4 hours, so
patience will be required as we slowly progress through the rest of the
    translations.

There are a few corrections still to be made to this first translation
document, but that will have to wait for my brother to arrive here on the
weekend so I can clarify a few points. It is likely I will repost that file
once those changes have been made. I thought folk would be keen to see some
results (was it December we first started talking about this???).

BTW, A request! Can the person who made the original scans possibly redo
some scans? I am just after the two photographic pictures of Tomita, but
would like them scanned as photos (300dpi JPG would be fine), rather than as
line drawings/graphics. The scans that I have were all done as line/drawing
(ie two colour B&W scans, so the photo picture quality comes out pretty
poor). Thanks in advance, they can just be mailed to me at your leisure.

    Enjoy.

    Regards,
    Lance

Hey this is just too cool. Lance has taken this task way beyond my hopes.
    Really a first rate job.
That business about the decoder ring, well if the trasnslation turned out
to be a catalog of Tomita's recordings...that would be about the same. I
think this is turning out way way better. Here we have him using examples
from his own work to demonstrate how he uses the synth to create his
sounds....and this is only the first page.... Bravo, Lance!
