There are a number of videogames for all consoles which share at least one feature: a fishing mini-game. My question to you is:

Per individual game, what is the largest fish you've caught? Or, how many fish have you caught? (Make sure you post what game it's in, heh.)

I need to hook up my N64 and see what my record was in Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time... But what started my brain on this rather pointless subject was catching a 22-inch fish in Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland. XD Go figure. Whee, I feel special.

    Bonus: Amazing Fishing Story XD
Those of us familiar with LoZ: OoT probably all know about the Loach - and for those who don't know, it's a special fish in the game's little fishing pond which can only be captured with a special lure. The fish is a bottom-dweller which only comes up to the surface to make an occasional "plop" noise, so you need to find the Sinking Lure to get it - you can't catch it with the regular, floating lure.

    Supposedly.

First, I think I should point out that Ocarina of Time is probably my favorite videogame ever, and over several years I've spent FAR more time with it than can be considered healthy. I devoted my time to finding and getting every secret, every item, and every top record. This, of course, included catching the loach. But there was a problem. Try as I might, I could NEVER find that damned special lure in the file I'd been working on for months. I know how to get it - but it's semi-random, and I just couldn't manage to find it.

So, one night, I'm randomly fishing and screwing around in the game. I cast. Something bites. I start reeling it in - and it's the loach. It had apparently come to the surface at the exact time that my lure hit the water, by pure chance, and it had gone for it. I was actually able to replicate this a second time, again by chance, but it got off the hook the second time.

No need to tell me I'm obsessive. I already know. XD
