Anime Flag

Here's another new show that has great potential, not because of its initial setup or its gripping backstory but for its intriguing narrative: FLAG, the story of a young female photographer whose photograph of a flag in a war-torn country was the first inspiration for peace talks. Now that United Nations have moved in to stabilize the country and to continue the peace process, the she is invited to report about the special forces squad the UN have sent. And of course, as the photographer is from Japan, there's a big mecha involved ^_^

The intriguing part? The story is apparently shown as a documentary, told from the perspective of one of the reporter's colleagues. The eye of the camera is always the eye of a camera within the story. How's that for a neat idea? So far, the story looks promising, and I only hope the usual mecha stereotypes won't pop up.
