Ok, if you have been there, seen Cowboy Bebop, and bought the t-shirt (well, maybe not ;)) what did you think of the show as a whole? Did you find the storylines interesting and new, or were there some that just seemed a little same-ish?

And in particular: did you find the last episode a satisfying conclusion, or did it leave you wondering...

Apologies if this is a repeat thread.

****major Spoilers, Obviously, For Numerous Things****

I doubt Cowboy Bebop will ever fall below my Top Ten anime list. It was truly a great anime. Although it comes off as a typical "revenge plot" storyline at times, it was really well done and unlike some people I like how in certain animes, shown namely in Cowboy Bebop, they aren't tied up, specifically, in the main storyline. It shows that they kinda DO have other things to do. ;P It was great to see everyone at work and Spike not always worrying about Julia or Vicious (or at least voicing his concern every episode XD).

As for the ending... it was easily one of the best endings I've ever witnessed in an anime. I enjoy some of the more morbid endings, sad, depressing (original Butterfly Effect, Donnie Darko, Se7en, etc., where the main character dies, etc.)... so naturally I loved the ending for Cowboy Bebop. I mean, really... the ending was just kind of sad and depressing (and, I'll say this now, I will NOT get into any debates, with ANYONE, about whether Spike lived or not)... but, you know... it gave a very strong feel of completion and closure.

from the first time i saw it i loved it. the plot line was somewhat generic but the animation quality and the music and the chracter development was incredible. Every episode from start to finish was amazing. each character was thuroughly developed and had a background and many secrets to be revealed through out the series. and finally, my favorite part. the music.

everysong in the series was incredible. im a huge fan of jazz and blues and i thought it was absolutely incredible music. i especially liked "The Real Folk Blues" and "Tank".

another part that i liked was all the american references in the anime.

like Julia's car in episode 25 is a 1949 Tucker Torpedeo of which only 49 were made.

Heavy Metal Queen obviously is about americas use of CB radios.

Londes and the Scratch cult from the Brain Scratch episode were based off of Marshall Herff Applewhite who was the leader of the Heavens Gate Cult which believed that Hale-bopp was brought by aliens and was the gateway to paradise. the whole cult commited suicide to be "Saved" by the comet.

In the "Speak Like a Child" Episode the crazy Otaku guy with the Beta tapes and such is watching a parody of Beverly Hills 90210. if you watch the credits you'll see the cast listed as Jason Prestory an Shanan D'har. now if you pronounce these names with a japanese accent you end up with Jason Preistly and Shanon Dorhety.

not really a reference to america rather japan, if you look in the "Cowboy Funk" episode when Andy becomes the samurai he calls himself, Musashi as in the famous swordsmen Musashi Miyamoto and his yakuta has the Tokugawa Triple Hollyhock crest on it.

so those are some random references. also a lot of the songs are based on songs from 80's american and such. if you pay attention youll see all these references.

i have to say i am satisfied with coyboy bebop in whole. if you think of how many bounty hunting animes there are, coyboy bebop is one that stands out. though it has some repetive moments to it, it tends to hold my interest, and i always watched it and waited for more.

i have to say i like the movie more than some of the shows episodes, but other than that, i got what i expected to get: a new look on the bounty hunting idea!~~
