    I was exposed to this band last Wednesday when it fell to a friend of mine to put on some music whilst we were playing cards (and consuming a lot of beer for a weekday morning). Anyway, From Autumn To Ashes is a hard rockish band. They are in some way similar to Alexisonfire, with the yelled lyrics everywhere. So if you like them, you'd probably like these guys. Of course, I don't much care for Alexisonfire and I still like them, so it might happen to you.
    Anyway, I urge everyone to give this band a chance. And if you already have, please discuss.

    I had a chance, here's what I think: Alexisonfire, From Autumn to Ashes, Posion the Well, all these "hardcore" bands or "screamo" bands are just the record industries new "rebellious" sound. nothing more than mall-core to me.

    Capitalism is just one reasons why I dislike it. To add on to it, this screamo, emo whatever scene has totally takin' over the punk scene. In downtown Ottawa a year or two ago there were great shows atleast every other night.. now it's just this stuff.

    'nuff said, I don't like it.

    You could see it that way ... if you want to even consider this subgenre at all related to punk.
    The thing with this band, though, is that if I could understand their lyrics I probably wouldn't like them any more. But the yelling amuses me.

    I only like one song from this group, and I've heard a couple of their songs.

    From Autumn to Ashes - Short Stories With Tragic Endings
    This song has a girl singing very good vocals mixed with the screaming. I personally don't mind a band who screams if they can also sing, but it looks like Autumn can't. Luckily this song has a guest vocalist to save it.

    I've listened to two CDs, though really the only songs I can tolerate are the same one as Hice, Short Stories With Tragic Endings and it's really only because of the female vocalist at the end. When listening to it I had the tendency to just fast-forward the song to that part and listen to it over and over again, heh. The other two are the sort of spoken-word song, I think it's called Mercury Rising and the final one is Chloroform Perfume. Listened to the others a couple times but nothing really cried out to me as worthwhile of listening to on a more common basis.

    I've heard only one song by this band, and I loved it. I don't remember which one it was, though. ^^;; I have it written down somewhere. Anyway, I like very much, even if it is just that one song. ^^;;
