Fruits Basket Fruits Basket Sampler

Hi,it's your friendly neighborhood Blue Crow!I noticed there were no threads in this forum yet.I don't know much about Fruits Basket,but I bought the 2 episode sampler DVD.I liked the show very much and would like to see more of it.The DVD was good,despite the annoying FUNimation voice actors.There's also a Dragonball GT preview on it.It costed $1.99!Did anyone else buy this?What did they think about it?

 

Well, this is wacky...there were threads in this forum yesterday....and the welcome thread seems to have migrated to the general anime section. Weird.

Anyway....

I didn't get the sampler DVD for Fruits Basket, mainly because I already know it's one of my favorite series (tied for first place with Saiyuki). I actually didn't mind the dub. I think FUNimation did a good job picking people with the exception of Yuki. Also, the subtitles are very good.

I'm looking forward to getting the rest of the series. The second DVD just recently came out, and the third will be coming out in March. Not sure about the release date on the fourth DVD, but it can't be too far behind.

Yeah, the forum has been deleted(don't think entirely purposefully), but I'm trying to get it reinstated.
Fruits Basket is a truly brilliant anime. One of the best I've ever seen, definately. I've not seen the sampler, and I don't trust the dubs, but I've seen the full series fansubbed(and read a sizeable portion of the manga). I'd reccomend it to anyone. And everyone. So get it now. Don't make me come after you.

 

I think you misunderstood me,Shadowbard.By "Annoying FUNimation Voice actors",I wasn't talking about the dub.The dub is actually quite good.You see,the DVD itself is hosted by 3 of FUNimation's voice actors.And,out of character,they're quite annoying.

 

I saw the first dvd and it was so good! i really want the series! If any of yous people know good sites pertaining to fruits basket please direct me to them! ill be so forever happy! I love the japanese voices! they fit the character so well! unlike in america where they suck at giving voices to anime characters. althought they might be getting better.

 

I had heard about it from my friends and went looking for it at Sam Goody. Sadly i live in a small town that doesn't have a good selection of anime but LO and behold! There was the Fruits Basket sampler. Thank GOD for that. ^_^ LOL
I bought the DVD later.
Uh....what did you think about that wannabe voice actor guy who redid the Dragon Ball voices for Tien And Choutsu (sp?). I thought that was HILARIOUS! But he sucked. LOL. ^_^'

 

Only 4? Thats too said...something so great should have at least like 10 dvds but then it would get expensive huh? I'd like to know if there's a box set too.
