FLCL Furi Kuri or FLCL(or...)

    So, it's a simple question. Which do you call it, or which do you prefer calling it. Changing the boards name sure did throw me...

    it's flcl...saying it as either of those is the only way the japanese language can say it. It is said properly as FLCL.

    I pronounce it Furi Kuri and write it FLCL. Shorter to write, and Furi Kuri flows better for speaking. It's all motivated by laze.

    I usually go with FLCL, but Fliptonic Cliptonic Weber Syndrome works too! But I don't think the name has anything to do with Fliptonic... I wonder what it stands for, or if it stands for anything and is a short form of Furi Kuri.

    i call it furi kuri and FLCL.. i alternate just cos I think furi kuri sounds cool :)

    Whichever comes to mind first in a conversation...FLCL or Furi Kuri. Additionally, when I listen to music, I always call it FLCL. But as soon at the anime itself is being talked about...I usually call it the FLCL-ness. Wierd....

    Name? FLCL is the short form for Furi Kuri. The Japanese have a problem pronoucing those R and L's. They don't role there R's.

    The name is Fooly Cooly,

    Fooly sounds like Furi if read in Japanese.
    Cooly sounds like Kuri if read in Japanese.

    It is spelt different (JAp-a-fide)so they can write it properly, also say it easier. IT's just some funky Jenglish slang.

    Meaning? Dunno? It's said always in a Foolish/Coolish situation.

    The story it self is Foolish(Meaningless), but it is still cool(Amuse ing)

    ANYHOW, I say Furi Kuri ... it just roles better.

    I call it FLCL.The only time I say it is when I type it,and FLCL is shorter to type. :)
    Also I think "Fooly Cooly" is a rather odd name,"Furi Kuri" sounds much better.

    notice when its spelled... its in katakana.. which means it didnt derive from the japanese language... also, because there is no "L" sound in japanese.. it is usually replaced with "R"... so its just basically spelling out the letters F-L-C-L...

    It either means absolutely nothing but saying furikuri, or the movement of your hands as you, *ahem*, squeeze.

    In any case, "Fooly Cooly", Furi Kuri, or FLCL, it's right. It makes just about as much sense as the anime.

    Ack, what the hell? This is english, yet I don't understand whats going on. Well, its not my business. Just what the heck is FLCL anyways? Maybe I heard of it (scratches head), but i'm not making the connection here.

    You might find that after watching the anime, that you feel the same way. FLCL, Fuir Kuri, whatever you want to call it, is a truly remarkable anime. It's one of the most bizzare things you ever will see, and in my oppinion, one of the most enjoyable. Check it out, if you regret it, I'll rip out your heart and eat it.

    Ack, so it is an anime. Well, i'll certainly look into it.

    Wanna eat my heart? Yuuck, hearts taste nasty. I had to take a bite outta one for catching my first Bluefin Tuna (my loudmount friend brought it up). Tastes like a bloody nose. Hehe, toodles
