Watase Yuu Works [Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden] by Yuu Watase

The new series by Yuu watase is about the story of priestess of Genbu and her adventures. This story is set before FY. 5 volumes seem to be out so far.

 

Hmmm... are you SUREEEEEEE about this? You could easily be thinking about one of the Gaiden novels 9there are supossingly more after Eikouden.) the Gaiden novels aren't written by Yuu Watase but she does some of the art.

The Gaiden novels so far have discussed this:

The lives of the seishi before they met Miaka (Tasuki, Chichiri, Nuriko and Hotohori)
the twins Amiboshi and Suboshi
Nakago's past
and 2 are Eikouden which happens after the second OAV (in fact, it's the only one that was made into an OAV)

I wouldn;t be surprised if there's one abotu the Genbuu no Miko coming out (and soon after one about the Byakkou no Miko). Tho, shucks, I wnated to write fanficition about those two.

 

I think that's really interesting! ^_^ I always wondered about the Genbuu and Byakkou no miko. I wanted to write fanfics too, but heck, I'm not up for epic fanfics right now, what with all my originals. ^^;; (We should write one together, or RP one! Ooo~! XD *is an idiot*)

Heh, no... Genbu Kaiden is an actual manga by Watase-sensei being serialized in Sho-Comi Zoukan which comes out every 2 months.

One volume has been collected already. XD I like it lots... Takiko-san was a very cool person (a bit tomboyish, head-strong, etc.). Not quite how one would view a sacred miko but great nonetheless. ^^ It's quite depressing reading the manga knowing of Takiko's fate, though...

Hmmm... looks pretty cool, about time more info on Takiko was introduced. I'll read the translations later when I have more time.

 

I'm big fan of Fushigi Yuugi ^^ and I Read Genbo no miko volume one ! but only 3 chapters X____X; and its really Awesome !!
I mean its good to know all the past about the miko....specially the first one who enter the book ^^

 

I clicked on the link Chi had and I read all 6 volumes.
Which took forever to read by the way.
It's really good(but I still like Miaka better.
It's kind of like Star Wars. You know like Yu Watase went back before Miaka and Yui ever went in to "The Universe of the Four Gods". A Pre-qual.
It's really good. But it wasn't the same without the drawings and stuff.
