Square Enix Garland + Vader

    I was wondering, doesnt Darth Vader and Garland act and look so alike?

    1.They both dress alike, see the images below, and compare Garlands black cloak and cloths to ... Vaders black cloak and cloths. their such alike.
    Garland
    Vader

    2.They are both the father of the good guy, and they themself are evil, such as Garland being the maker of Zidane, and garland being evil. and the fact Vader being lukes father, and being evil. both the same, again

    3.They are both wanting to destroy a planet, with Garland wanting to destroy Gaia, and darth vader wanting to destroy the planet that the rebels are on. The same, again!

    Extra: In Star Wars, the two pilots out of the rouge, are called "Biggs + Wedge" yes, uve got it, in final fantasy, Biggs And Wedge are famous for being two partners in FF history.

    So, what do you think?

    Probably goes back to the fact that Square was aided on FFIX by Industrial Light And Magic. Can you say fan service?

    I think you're stretching things just a bit.

    1) Okay, he dresses a bit like Vader. But if that automatically made everyone a Vader-copy, we wouldn't see the tons of black capes we see all over. And where's his mask? :D

    2) Would you really consider Garland Zidane's father? Maybe indirectly, but you're pushing it.

    3) Not really the same. They have different roles and reasons here. Garland is the guy in charge and wanting to blow up Gaia. Vader is always serving someone in charge of the Death Star (that blows up planets). In A New Hope, Tarkin actually decides to blow up Alderaan, and calls the shot when they go after the rebel base on Yavin's fourth moon. In Return of the Jedi, Emperor Palpatine is giving the orders.

    Extra: A wonderful Star Wars reference that's in many FF games. But it has no bearing on Garland being a Vader knockoff.

    Where's the mask? What did Garland look like? An old, pale-skinned, wrinkly shell of a man. What did Vader look like sans-masque?

    -Vader was hairless "sans mask".
    -Vader relied on his suit for life support.
    -Vader had the Force.
    -Vader had a lightsaber.
    -Vader was cooler to the nth degree.

    Garland had a little beard. Whoop-dee-doo.
    Ever seen Garland without the armour?
    Garland had magic. Same thing.
    I'm sure if he wanted one, Garland could get one.
    I have to agree on that last bit. Garland was kind of an ***.
