Debate Gay Marriage Just Got a Huge Boost...

    As you've no doubt heard, the Massachusetts Supreme Court struck down a marriage law yesterday, saying the current definition of marriage didn't clearly say that gays couldn't be wed and therefore they must be allowed to. Now, they could just fix the law so that it says marriage is only between a man and a woman, but even so gay marriage just got a big push forward. Thoughts on it, anyone?

    Though many others would take marriage as a sacriment and a holy thing, I would say that, yes, it is holy, but it is mostly an expression of someone's unconditional love for another human, and to bind them as such until they either die or divorce. My opinion is such that I see nothing wrong at the moment with gay people getting married. If they love each other, go for it.

    Let them be married, as if marriage is such an important thing in the USA. So many people get divorces it makes a farce out of it. If they care for each other so much they should not need a document to tell them that. Marriage is ridiculous, it is not possible because no matter how subtle the desire, human wants can never be satisfied as they are perpetual.

    i've never had a problem with this concept. love is love, even if it isn't between a man and a woman. as long as they're both you know, people, it's cool lol.
    and well, it is true, marriage is a bit of a joke. what part of "till death do you part" says that the marrige should end because you aren't happy with your choice anymore?

    Heh, I just happened to be reading this when meh gay friend walked in the room, and I asked his opinion on it. And surprisingly, he says he doesn't think gay couples should be allowed to marry because it says in the Bible that it should be man/woman. So, the religious aspect of this comes into the decision as well. I find it interesting. I really don't have a problem with it, because as Berry said love is love, whether it's homesexual or heterosexual shouldn't really matter. ^^

    Ask him why he seems to think Christianity is the only religion that condones marriage.:rolleyes: Besides, the book with that quote (Leviticus) also forbids wearing clothing made of two kinds of fabric, among other ridiculous limitations. His pants better be 100% cotton or he'll be a REAL flamer... in HELL!:p

    Sooner other coutrys/states/ect allow it the better.
