Shirow Masamune Works Ghost in the Shell for real

Everybody who's seen Ghost in the Shell remembers the scence when the hacker is tring to run away from the police and then he put's on a Thermo Active Camouflag jacket. (well i do it's my favoerite scene).
Anyway i've heard a whisper that there's a college in Japan that's actually working on a project to make a real Thermo Active Camouflag suit just like the one in the movie. As far as i know the movie is were they got the idea. I'm thinking of looking into the rumor to see if it's true.
I think that it's cool that people are using anime to come up with real inventions.

Lex posted a link to the project in Eirtaku a while ago afaik. Doubt he still has it, and its technaclay not a therm suit, because it works by repoduceing the back round behind you, not changeing heat ect ect.

 

How about something real thermo - burn you up so you're really *not* there

 

I believe we already have an invention like that. It's called a Flame Thrower.
