Gown shopping

Okay, so I've been looking for dresses on my own. There's only one Bridal Gown store in Chatham.. I tried on some dresses, but they are really blah.. in the back of them.

I finally got to look at some dresses in London. I only went to Garber's and Ballett's. Garber's treated me very well and I was surprised by how many beautiful dresses they had. I was able to narrow it down to three there and I left for Ballett's.

I already really liked the dresses in Garber's and debated about going into Ballett's but I did. Ballett's really must take appointments seriously. There weren't many people there, but those who worked there simply ignored me. It may have been best because I was comparing dresses and prices to the ones in Garber's.

End result? Ballett's is expensive and most of their dresses are the same. One's that were nice, were too much and not even worth the price.

So I sketched out the 3 dresses I liked at Garber's and showed my Mom. Just for her opinion (yes I went dress shopping alone) I bet my Mom will not even see my dress until the wedding day! ><

Anyways, I phoned Garber's January 3rd. They were closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Sat, because of New Year's Day. They were really busy so I got to the point ont he phone and said I wanted this discontinued dress in the store. She said it was a gorgeous dress and was sure it wouldn't be around soon. So I put 100 on it and have it set aside.

Garber's is even going to be at the London Bridal Show with dresses so I think it's a good idea.. anyways it will be re-beaded then adjusted.

Anyways, one thing almost settled.. I'll phone them again tonight. Now I have to find a photographer because the one I called never replied to my message. And I may just not get a DJ.

 

well.. I'll have to look around the clutter for the sketches. But they were .. not exact since my memory faded. thanks I'll update on the gown hunt. I'm hunting for bridesmaid gowns now.
