Rare's classic, Dyddy Kong Racing. Also evidence of how stupid a game full of cartoon anthropomorphic animals can be.

Hey, I SAID it was a CLASSIC! It's a good game, just completely stupid. Not a whole lot of staying power there ...
    Anyway, here's the next round:
This game was only on the Sega 32X. It was a sidescrolling action/platformer in which you played a musical cricket who could snap his fingers to damage enemies. He gained super powers by playing a record of yodelling, which prompted cows to fly through the air around him. The name of the main character is also the title of the game. There was a full theme song with lyrics and everything as well, making this game way ahead of its time.

Well, it has been a while since I posted it, and it is a very obscure game, so I guess it's fitting that I should help you out. Here's some sample lyrics from the song. If this doesn't make it easier, I don't know what will.

"Tempo and check it out you know
He makes it funky and he's good to go (whoa)
Zig-zag! Catch the groove in New York, L.A. and San Francisco!"

If I told you any more, it would make it so obvious it wouldn't even be funny any more. It says the title of the game a lot.

Haha, it's Tempo. One of the many zany characters that came with the 32X and died with it.

Startropics it is. A fantastic game that seems to have a bit of the Zelda look and feel, but definately is a game of its own.

Yeah, and the sequel was freakin' amazing too. The NES had some really great games. In celebration:

This one was a NES port of a Commodore 64 game. It's a strategy sort of game based on the concept of land development. You play a settler on the planet Irata, and it is your job to build the colony and help it achieve success. You were aided by specialized robots that could run farms, gather energy or mine, and you competed against three other settlers. The game also supported up to four players. It also had one of the coolest opening themes of anything on the system. And for the record, the C64 version was better.

    M.U.L.E.!

A simply amazing and innovative piece of software there. The greatest of the great party games, I say. It was nice to see how many mountain wumpus' you could nail in a single turn.

And yes, the C-64's version beat the pants offa the NES port.

    My next one...really easy.
