Gundam Gundam 0083:Stardust Memory

I like this OAV lot.Its based in the UC(Universal Century),and has Gato in it.It's a really good OAV aybe the best Gundam OAV...


Why do some people not like it?None of my friends at school like it to much.(Even thought they call my Kou,because I look like him)What is wrong with it?I thought it was good.

 

I liked 0083 too but it just wasn't my favorite out of all the Gundams out there. Maybe that's how other people feel too......

WHAT IS IT ABOUT THIS OAV THAT IS SO GOOD. I AM CURRENTLY MAKING MY WISH LIST OF ANIME THAT I WANT, AND GUNDAM IS ON THE LIST. I JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE WHAT I'M GETTING IS GOOD STUFF.
WHAT WOULD YOUR REVIEW OF THE OAV BE?

 

Well in order to like this series you have to have seen Mobile Suit Gundam.This OAV takes place in UC 0083,Gato(also known as "The Nightmare of Solomon)steals a Gundam that is very destructive.A federation junior pilot,Kou Uraki,becomes obbsessed with defeating Gato.

There is also a plan to bring back the Zeon forces.

Thats pretty much the story of it.


This series has really good music.Great characters.The animation is good too.This series has the coolest Mobile Suits of any Gundam series.

 

Hey I've been watching Gundam 0080, War in the Pocket, does that go with 0083 and/or Mobile Suit Gundam, or are they all like just by them selves??

 

Yeah,they are all paart of the same saga.Its known as the UC(Universal Century)saga.



UC series:

Mobile Suit Gundam(takes place in UC 0079)
8th MS Team(takes place in UC 0079)
Gundam 0080:War in the Pocket(UC 0080)
Gundam 0083:Stardust Memory(UC 0083)
Zeta Gundam(UC 0084-0086(Something like that I havent seen Z Gundam yet)
Mobile Suit Gundam:Chars Counterattack(movie)(UC 0093,the conclusion of the UC saga)


There are other series/movies in the UC timeline,but these are the big ones.

yeah it seems pretty cool, I saw all of 0080, i only saw a few epidsodes of mobil suite gundam, 8th MS team, and 0083. I haben't seen any of the movies or Z Gundam.

 

0083 isn't popular because all the kids saw Wing 1st and have come to expect similar from the rest of the Gundam series.
0083 is a much better anime in every way compared to Wing.

You do not need to have seen the original MS Gundam series/movies to enjoy 0083, but it would be handy if you have because then you'll have a bit more insight into some of the events and various things commented on in 0083.
The same applies for a good few of the UC Gundam series.

Chars Counterattack isnt the conclusion to the UC series, it's just the end of the whole Amuro and Char saga.
Other Gundam anime such as V Gundam, F91 and G-Saviour, are also set in the Universal Century timeline. There's also a great number of Gundam UC books and manga around.

Nope,none of the OVA characters are in other series.

Well,Gundam 0083 does have a character that appears again.In Zeta Gundam.I havent seen Zeta,Ive only read episode summaries,and I havent seen episode 13 of 0083.The episode in which the Zeta Gundam character appears,so I dont know who it is.

 

oh I know next to nothing about Z-Gundam and hardly anything about 0083.

 

Ok,I saw episode 13 of 0083,and I know what character it was.It was Bask Om,one of the bad guys of Zeta Gundam.(yes,the Federation is the antagonist in Z Gundam)Ive attached a picture of him.

 

He's scary looking and it looks like he has googles for eyes...hmmm r u sure he's not in war in the pocket he kinda looks like the head zion guy in that, it probably isn't though and I'm just being weird.

 

Yeah, they do look simialr,but its not him.


He's not a Zeon,he's from the Titans,a division of the Earth Federation and the main problem in Zeta Gundam.

 

Is Zeta gundam even out in the U.S.?? I wanna see it.

 

Zeta's next on the list for US release.
Bootleg DVD's are the best option at the moment because I don't really know if it'll get a showing on Cartoon Network since it's quite similar to the original show visually, and that was a flop on CN.
